We need to find hunger and experience.

I am naively hopeful that we have a plan in place, with contingencies, so that we move like a hot knife through butter, as opposed to the opposite.

Links (only tenuous) to Grealish are underwhelming, and not a player who we should be after, but better nonetheless than the very average Bissouma.

100% Agree

You are being naive

I fucking hope we're not looking at him as a Biss replacement, Grealish is about as far from a dominant 6 we're desperately crying out for as you can get.

Did I read somewhere that grealish hasn’t had and assist or goal in something like 400 days?
Looks like a desperation signing in the mould of Jesus or sterling. At that rate we might as well get rashford too if we are collecting other teams rubbish.

Are you certain they "offered" the job to all of these people - or did they just have them on a list of candidates?

Either way - it's not great even if you're right and Postecoglou was 6th choice. In fact it bodes very badly for us does it not? After all if it was that difficult to find a manager that would take the job then it's only going to be that much harder next time round isn't it?

The more reassuring take would be that Spurs had a host of great choices but chose the worst of them wouldn't it?

That wouldn't be reassuring at all. That would say to me that decision making at the club is terrible. Nobody other than those high up will 100% know but it's not realistic to believe Ange was first choice. Just think about. A bloke who has done fuck all in any of the top leagues getting one of the top jobs in the most watched league in the world. Nobody wants to manage Spurs. It's a grave yard for ambition. The same happened when we appointed Nuno. I doubt either was on the original short list.

If we go anywhere near Grealish then we really are doomed. There is a whole generation of players who have obscene wealth by the time they're in their early 20s and as a result they stop applying themselves. Rashford is another one.

Sonny has 5 goals and 6 assists in the Premier League this season. Brennan has 7 goals and 2 assists in the league games.
Werner has 3 assists, no goals. His contribution just doesn't come close to the other 2.
I literally explained the difference between goal contributions and affecting games and you chose to ignore that and talk about goal contributions.

I think it's far too early to say Odobert or Moore are going to make an impact. We just don’t know.
Son is no more than an impact sub IMO. He has less of an impact on games outside of the odd goal contribution than either Werner or Johnson.
To clarify this, I mean he's often so anonymous that he's not affecting the way the game is being played at all.
The other 2 at least stay busy running at the opposition and give them something to think about.

Kinda reminds me of Ronaldo at United. Outside of his goals there were arguments the team was worse with him in it.
Except that one game where he beat us 3-2 on his own

Did you even finish reading what I wrote before you rage replied?

Can’t see City selling a decent backup / rotation player in Jan given their precarious form.
