Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The comparison with other clubs should help you understand the possibility of getting transfers done.

ManU (below Spurs in PL) and Mancity (one win in last 12 matches or something) have plenty more money than Spurs, have very pressing needs for players too - but so far no signings. Why do you think that is ?
FFP is stopping United from buying before they sell , something we have no worries about

Levy still waiting for that Staveley lady to buy a piece of the club in the summer. If she buys, she wants to bring in her choice of manager. So Levy won't sack Ange, he'll wait for her to come in and start fresh.

So you're right, no new players for Ange. Bring back Donley and Philips from their loans might be the best he can do.

Irrespective of whether Ange is the long term option we need to spend in this window.

The conversation needs to be about building a squad, rather than backing Ange. We need to improve the team regardless of who is in charge of it.

We have an injury list similar to the beach landing scene in Saving Private Ryan. Meanwhile our highly overpaid intern thinks he is winning the window cos nobody has taken his Gap Kids pants down for an extra tenner

Not surprising if true.
Spurs lost out on Kim because L & L refused to pay the "real" value.
Clubs are tired of negotiating with L & L, so once another club comes in with a "decent" off they just leave Spurs out of it.

Lens have asked Jorge fucking Mendes to get him sold for the highest bid.

Fuck knows which clubs are actually interested but I doubt we are one of them. He's 20 and right-footed. We already have Luka Vuskovic who is already showing himself to be like creating a 99 player on FIFA, then there is Phillips as well who isn't doing badly and also right-footed. That's before we mention Dragusin who is 22 and actually playing here.

If we sign a CB, I'd bet it's an experienced one and/or left-footed.

Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham was an interesting listen. Both seemed astonished that at least one player was not ready to come in on 1 January.

Also felt that the club has no intention of bringing anyone back from loan, which is telling in itself.

With 2 games in the next 5 days, and a squad so severely depleted in key places, it’s beyond ineptitude and has to be deliberate disregard.

I now fully expect Ange to carry the can for the semi final debacle on Wednesday and then he will be gone.

Liverpool play Sunday vs UTD and then Weds night at ours. I think Slop will rotate for the first leg. I could even see him giving Salah a rest.

I don't see a more urgent need than a backup/stopgap striker at the moment, but surprisingly there isn't much noise about it. Every other position will sort itself out to some degree after injured players come back, while we'd be left with Lankshear if/when Solanke goes down.

Hopefully they're not actually counting on Richarlison to do the job.

I'm sure Levy, Munn and Lange are preparing the press right now to introduce our new January signings... Mikey Moore, Micky Van De Ven and Richarlison... I reckon he will get them doing a few keepy uppies and then all three holding up a Spurs scarf above their heads. As far fetched as this sounds, I can actually see Levy doing this. By now, he is just seeing how far he can go before the fans really turn on him. I'm sure he's playing a weird reality game called FYFC (Fuck Your Football Club).

I told you, after an exhausting search and every striker with an ounce of pedigree turning us down we will sign Josh Windass on loan to the end of the season.

Do you expect me to believe you care about winning trophies?

No Ange I expect you to take the blame

I'd be amazed if Levy sacks Ange this season. The feeling I get is that everyone in the club appreciates that the squad is a work in progress and was too thin for this season because they were being patient to get the right profiles in, and that the injury problems have been worse than anticipated. I personally want to see Ange given another full season on the condition that Levy actually spends some money on the players we need, both in this window and the summer one. I also think that Ange has learnt that the PL is by far the most physically intense league he has encountered and will rotate much more effectively when he has a deeper squad.

We still need:

GK: A backup GK who is home grown and good with his feet.
RCB: A ball playing, experienced CB to cover Romero.
LCB: A fast, left footed defender who can cover VdV.
LB: Whilst Spence can cover this position, we need have a dedicated LB to compete with Udogie.
DM: We need an experienced specialist, as Bissouma is too inconsistent, with Gray the long term option..
RWF: With Kulu better at #10, we need an alternative to Johnson, preferably a more creative winger who can beat his man.
CF: We need proper competition for Solanke. Richy is just too injury prone. Lankshear really needs a loan.
