Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The players gave a good effort but it’s the same as always with this manager. When the opponent attacks, we can’t deal with it. When they drop back, we can’t break through.

Adding more quality players will help but if you look at his actual football ideas they are not effective. That’s why we lose so many games.

It’s reckless football that’s hilarious to watch but that’s not what I’m looking for. I don’t think that’s what any club is looking for.

There has to be a tipping point.

I am seeing people saying "clear to see the players still believe in Ange". They can believe all they want, and nobody is faulting the effort.

But that simply isn't good enough. The issue is Ange's level is not enough for what we need. His whole set up team shape, it's just attack attack attack.

Yet Ange cannot buy a win let alonr string a few in a row.

It seems all some fans care about now is effort and that is enough to keep a manager around. It's laughable.

The issue is with his tactics and he cannot set a team up to be solid, keep a clean sheet and actually win.

I do not like losing, but we are in the middle of an injury and illness crisis FFS! We're missing 10 senior players through injury, illness and suspension. Some of those starting today were playing with illness. 3rd choice GK making his PL debut. 4th choice CB Dragusin (with Romero, VdV and Davies out injured) partnering an 18 year old CM (Gray) playing out of position in the heart of the defence. Spence making only his 4th league start, playing out of position at LB (with Udogie injured). 18 year old Bergvall making only his 2nd PL start alongside 22 year old Sarr in CM. Who could possible have expected any kind of result against an in-form Newcastle (5 wins on the bounce, 18 goals scored, 1 conceded)? Anyone who thinks otherwise needs a reality check.

Positives:
  • Austin showed he is a decent GK and easily could have been the EL GK allowing Spence into the EL squad. Austin actually look better than Vicario on crosses and corners.
  • Gray continues to impress playing out of position at just 18 years old.
  • Bergvall looked very good and will develop into a really decent CM.
  • The players clearly played for Ange - he is going nowhere!

If only we could get points for moral victories. The effort from a patchwork side was there and those who stood in did admirably, but it doesn’t change the fact that this has been a horrendous run of form. I don’t think Levy will sack Ange, but we need to find some way to stop the rot. Any of the other 19 teams will come to our stadium feeling confident about their chances.

Taking bergvall off was a horrific decision. Feel like anything good we're currently doing is in spite of the manager, the players look uncoached. Look like 11 individuals. Think we should just end this now. Austin looked ok, better than forster, especially with the ball at his feet. No idea why he hasn't been playing tbh. Looked better at the back when dragusin went off, what a donkey he is. Johnson absolutely fucking abysmal.

Joelinton is a cunt. Levy is a cunt.

I’ve despised this team recently but not today.

Second half with an absolute patchwork back 4 we showed lots of character and really dominated the half (without creating too much).

I’ve battered this side and Ange last few weeks but we were OK today all things considered.

Couple of quick points….

- Spence is just a quality player. I think he looked better at CB than both Dragusin and Gray personally. His recovery pace is invaluable.

- Reguilon is no world beater by any means but he’s a better LV than Gray or Davies for my money. I remember in the 2023 pre season he was battling it out with Udogie for a starting spot. Then he got abused by a 16 year old and was dropped from the squad. That 16 year old was Lamal. He isn’t a great player but we’re paying him, we might as well make use of him unless we sign another quality LB.
