It's incredible how few scandals and embarrassing officiating performances they have in Rugby. Much lower budgets to work with as well. They put the PGMOL to shame.
It gives you the exact same amount of time to build up the flow again and if you are the timewasting team if it gives you more time to defend.

Honestly, I think that's because Rugby wanted to get it right. Their product is the game itself, not selling the controversy and monetising the hate it whips up.
The humans are ultimately the problem though.......

Just back from the game - I thought we played pretty well all through. The crowd were somewhat subdued, one of quietest games in quite a while. The Joelinton handball was contentious but because it resulted in a goal there was every reason to pull it back and disallow the goal.

The EFL really need to take a very serious look at time wasting & could definitely benefit from a long hard look at how Rugby deal with it.
Brilliant reffing from Madley. Perfect through balls have always been best performed by the forearm.
Besides if they hadn't scored that goal "so called" Spurs fans might have been been briefly happy the happy clapping seals.
