It gives you the exact same amount of time to build up the flow again and if you are the timewasting team if it gives you more time to defend.
Then why do most teams do it? It is clearly to break up the flow and relieve pressure. And anyway what you said is not factually correct. In fact adding additional time for the time wasted by Newcastle during injury time was one of the only things that the ref got right today. Many a time the refs blow up at the end of the allotted injury time despite massive time wasting during this time

If he doubles his Games and continues his output;

52 Games
22 Goals
10 Assists

Considering we’re lower mid-table that would be outstanding.

Plus he’s showing he’s there against the top teams as well, as you highlight.

Todays goal was a thing of beauty.
Thing is, he’s the type of striker we wouldn’t have rated in days gone by, but we’re a solidly mid-table club now and he’s on our level.

We’ve been in a long, slow descent since the day Poch was sacked, or really since Levy decided not to continue investing in the team while Poch was still here.

It took a long while, but this is where the club is now. Solanke looks good on our team, and many look at a game like today as a moral victory. Mid table attitudes. Sad state of affairs.

If 3 such blatant handball incidents (1 leading to a goal, 2 should be a 2nd yellow, 3 should be a penalty) is ruled in favor of a team in, say, an African league, people would shot about, "Match fixing."
Why do so many people believe that the refs and VAR in the wealthiest league in the world does not have "hidden" agendas?

By rights only the most special prospects should go straight from the academy to PL football. Austin should have had a loan before now really.

He's 25 now. He's had loans..... One can only conclude that in the last couple of years he's been deemed good enough to be GK3 otherwise the loans would have continued (like that have with the even older Whiteman - 26y/o).

The gamble was not having a solution to rotating our FBs and a better GK option than Forster from the start of the season.

Only having more CT players resolves both ends of that quagmire.

It’s pretty pointless blaming officials but today they hit a new low. I’m asking myself if this was the ref’s first game.
He got so many calls wrong he clearly had no confidence in his decisions. He was so erratic at playing advantage yet pedantic about a moving ball or taking a free from the wrong place.
Everyone seems to get a free hit at us for twenty minutes with all manner of infringements going unpunished, yet we usually get the first card.
Having said that, we were completely bullied for the first half with their centre halves absolutely owning Solanke. I have to ask why we can’t find defenders like that, you know, defenders that scare opponents.
The second half was almost proper Spurs but we couldn’t get passed their central defenders. Positives were mostly the effort and appetite and the keeper’s assured performance, and Reggie making the back line more balanced. Regillon ffs!
We probably deserved a point but were out thought, and out muscled.
I shall, of course be back on Wednesday. COYL! :troll:

Yes the 10min added were correct but they wasted about 5 of those minutes on the floor. Stop the clock whenever the whistle blows. Is such a simple concept.

Balls......

He's no less of a top table striker than Watkins, Toney etc...... And plenty of spurs have been talking them two up for years now.

.................Perhaps you'd prefer Jackson, , Nunez, Hojland, Zirkzee, Chris Wood, Jimenez or in the case of The Scum no-one?

The real truth is that Kane (best in the world in his pomp) has distorted what people like you expect of a Spurs ST..... Utterly predictable this would happen too.

14 games for Viborg FF and 5 games for Orlando City...

Give it a rest. Austin is a 27 year old rookie.I'm over the moon for him the way he played today but he's not got anything on his CV to say he should have been our EL GK ahead of Forster...

(Again.... He's 25!!!)

You "give it a rest"... You just said "straight from the academy to the EPL"........ Which is absolute strawman; I spoke of him playing in the prelims of the EL against Qarabag aged 25 ffs; not throwing him into the EPL aged 19.

He's a 25 year old rookie mate.

Less than a season of senior football played and you want him to be our EL GK...

After today btw, I would start him over Forster but that seems beside the point now because we just signed a GK... finally.

Doesn't change the fact that somewhere in there over the last 2 seasons; between our manager and GK staff they should have been able to assess his level of ability and deem that we was worthy of a game vs the mighty Qarabag.

EL is the perfect model for breaking in young/inexperienced players... Again; if not there then when?

Don't lose sight of the fact that the new guy is not HG or CT therefore we need to drop a non-HG player out of the EL squad to register him..... De-registering Forster doesn't resolve that.

Forster isn't CT or HG either so it's likely just 1 for 1.
