You are confusing 2 seasons. Last season Ange had a points per game better than anyone bar Poch and the first half season of Conte. This season, so far, he's worse than Ramos but we won't end the season that bad.
No, I'm talking about across their careers managing Spurs. Seasons give structure to a competition, but a manager shouldn't be simply judged August-May then the counter magically resets. Across their Spurs careers, he's objectively the worst performing manager we've had since Ramos. Any chunks of form here or there are immaterial, because every good 3 matches with him is offset by as many or more shit ones.
To start this season the performances were generally very good, the defeats before international breaks and after EL games were really, really annoying I give you that.
This is not true. In the first 10 matches this season we:
Beat clubs currently: 16th, 11th, 14th, 13th, 8th
Drew clubs currently: 19th
Lost to clubs currently: 5th, 2nd, 10th, 15th, 18th

We were poor. We were 10th with a healthy squad and having beaten only 1 club currently in the top half of the table.

Ange' football has a high ceiling and a low floor, right now we are on the floor, I don't agree with quitting when you are on the floor
Matey mate mate. We've knocked out the floor and begun digging. Ange's next appointment will be in in Australia, and we're set on digging the tunnel to deliver him there.

Angelos lack of top-league experience in any shape or from is starting to show now.
1)
He's running players to the ground with his training methods and playing style. It is known that many players in his previous teams suffered hamstring injuries. But Ange said players would get used to it in the second season. But now it's even worse than last season. He doesn't seem to understand that level of tear on players in the EPL.
2)
He's got this gun-ho approach to attacking football at any cost - even with 2 men down like vs Chelski. It may have worked in his previous clubs but not in the EPL.
Even arguably the best ever possession team in history, a prime Barca, with arguably the best ever MF trio in Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi, plus, at various times, players like Victor Valdez, Dani Alves, Puyol, Jordi Alba, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Messi ... often had problems against team that "parked" - which is why, despite of having up to 70-80 % possession against many teams they rarely won the CL Yes, they were not very solid defensively but they were better than the present-day Spurs in defense.
3)
He seem to lack trust in certain players. Several players get their chances by default.
Why did he wait so long to play Spence?
Why didn't he use Regulion before to rest Udogie?
Why has Brandon Austin never ever played any game before?

He would deal with it with the poise and class of someone tutored in European football surrounded by the best coaches and around the heart of the sport.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Nobody that has ever seen the trenches would ever be that smug. He has so obviously never had a rough spell in his managerial career. Watch him melt and start throwing classless jibes when the pressure is on. Just wait and watch.

Just imagine if you are Ange right now. You took job that has

- very little transfer budget
- culture of underachieving
- sh1t style of play
- ageing squad
- erratic chairman

You (somehow) almost immediately change the way the team plays and get us back in Europe and then 10 of your 25 players (including 4 of your first choice back 5) are unavailable. Even with all this against you , we manage to get to a cup semi , back in Europe and keep to your principals.......and then , just when you think it can't get even worse.....a group of fickle , impatient , unrealistic fans want you to get sacked.

If I was Ange , I'd resign and tell everyone to fk off!!

It’s impressive to have a list of points and the very first one is wrong.

We spent 270m euros in Ange’s first year. And then another 130m last summer. Pretty sure this qualifies as not being ‘very little’ transfer budget.

Especially when you consider the teams currently ahead of us. I don’t think Brentford have spent 350m in the last couple of years but could be wrong I guess.

Mate, you lost all credibility when you called fans of the 8th richest club on the planet that hasn't won barely more than a sausage in a quarter of a century Fickle, impatient and unrealistic

Behave yourself ffs

Lots of reasons. Ange seems to really behind the club and since day one has spoke as if he is 100% committed to the cause. He's alluded to the issues we've had and looking from the outside I have a feeling if given enough time he'll take us to a better place.

Playing style is great but the players we have our letting it down. Watching Johnson get the goals / assists he has is testament to the system we're playing as I don't rate him at all as a footballer.

I've watched United sack multiple managers at this point and still can't find a manager who can implement his ideas upon the players - Ange had no issues with this.

Our underlying stats and goal difference have been immense since Ange took charge - worth bearing with IMO as again he just needs some top quality players to really make the difference for us. Don't dismiss a manager who can find a system that scores goals - it's one of the hardest things to do in football.

Going back to the squad - We're really suffering with club trained players. At present Ange is bedding in 2/3/4 of these most weeks which will be massive for us in 2/3 years time. He deserves credit for taking that challenge onboard - not hate. I think this shows his character - managers before have put their own standing before that of the wellbeing of the club.
Jesus this is the most convoluted logic pretzel post I've ever seen.

We should back a manager who found a system to score goals, it's the hardest thing to do!

Brennan Johnson is shit, despite score goals (purportedly the hardest thing to do in football)!

You really can't make this stuff up. Half of our supporters just randomly pick a position on a manager/player/chairman and refuse to subject that opinion to critical thought or new information.

I never said results were great in that period, I said performances were generally good but results were rough. The wins were big and the losses were by 1 goal. Not excusing the losses but saying if we get back to consistent performances like the start of this season, we will start climbing the table pretty quickly.

Ok mate. Maybe he will be so shit that he might even accept an MLS gig. How embarrassing that would be.

You sound more than a bit hysterical mate .. like some jealous ex or something.

We are about five billion points behind Liverpool, I’d worry more about sticking it to Marco Silva or Thomas Frank tbh.

I refuse to believe anyone can be this fucking thick

I just copied your favourite caps lock HAHAHAHA post. Not really surprising you think it looked hysterical when I was just holding up a mirror.

We are lots of points behind Liverpool, yes. I wouldn't even be talking about them if he wasn't such a smug prick. Now, I will enjoy his strife regardless of where we are in the table. And he will get a rough period this season or next.

The hahahaha wasn’t the hysterical bit .. the weird fantasising about him having a difficult period was.

I doubt he’s that arsed. Even with a rough period this season they’ve won the league.

Is that supposed to hurt my feelings or something?
You realize that basically none of the US posters here follow the MLS, right? We don't think it's good football, or anything...

Maybe you should... The US needs more Jesse Marsch types who blaze trails from outside the traditional norms of football. you should probably be behind another one like Ange instead of calling him a fraud for having the audacity to try.

I'm not a nationalist and think international football is a criminal racket run by FIFA. Couldn't care less.
