Jamie redknapo needs hurting
He was absolutely fantastic. And has been since he arrived. Surpassing my expectations and he's clearly got a point to prove. Seems like a good guy too.Agre with your summary but
MoTM Dom imo
Made that goal out of absolutely nothing, a real hit and hope from Porro
Laid it perfectly for Lucas
Took his "goal" superbly, yeah I know it didn't count but still
Led the line AGAIN
chased down every time keeper had it
must be made of something special
Can you promise not to wrestle anymore if we win the 2nd leg please?
Last season at home in the league. Only 9 days of national mourning were declared that time, so you may have missed itWhen was the last time we won against Liverpool (in any competitions)? Was it that 3-1 victory in 2017?
I know it's been ages, so this one feels really good. Just hope we can make this count now and get to the final.
Problem is lack of knowledge all round as when they cut back to the Sky studio, they said Ange was completely wrong. That point he makes at the end about the "rule" on only cynical fouls incurring a yellow card is spot on. I've been screaming about it at games for weeks and only just learned tonight that now protocol.
Wish they'd tell us these things ffs
Can I just add regarding Solanke’s offside goal , which I thought was a dubious call looking at Trent but ….. why the fuck do the close ups look like an 8 bit graphics ?? We’ve got HD , 4K and god knows what else but the imaginary is terrible
In the cold light of day after last night's high ,thinking it all through .
When all things considered , players available to both teams ( especially the strength of the benches ) that really was a fabulous performance and wonderful result . Fair play to everyone involved .
Hopefully a sign we can now kick on
There'd be a hell of a queue building up for people to give him a slap . Can't bloody stand him
Agreed. Even though he's not officially a left back I still much prefer him there to Udogie. Just more assured in defence and offers no less in attack if we're honest. I'd keep using Porro for his attacking output but no harm in rotating them for the right matches.I repeat what I said a fair few weeks ago to raised eyebrows. He's the best fullbacks at Spurs fullstop it was obvious a far back as Coventry game. The thing he does in these clips repeatedly is win headers his direct rivals can't.
Thanks. Wasn't able to watch last night - a useful (and fair) summary. This was quite a grind, never thought I'd say this for a match under Ange actually. We needed to make it as ugly as we could though, that end-to-end stuff we saw in 3-6 would lead to a similarly one sided match and outcome.
They once again pressed the hell out of our back 5+DM, yet we dealt with it significantly better this time. We still had to resort to long balls at times, which was unavoidable due to how well they press as a team, yet we didn't capitulate and got trapped in our own half like we did last time. Bissouma in place of Sarr, and obviously Kinsky in place of Forster were the difference makers in that regard. Especially the latter was the ultimate press breaker for me, he played the entire match like an outfield player. It's not a must from a keeper, but it surely is a luxury to have.
Our defending still bordered on reckless and even chaotic sometimes, mainly because Bergvall's ambitious forward runs and Kulusevski's poor showing compromised the team shape, but in general I feel we did a good job keeping things tight. We clearly weren't all over the place like we were last time, despite players evidently getting tired in the last 20-30 min. Bissouma who did a really good job as the single pivot, Gray who looked as natural as can be at CB, and Spence who managed to keep a world class player in check deserve special recognition, but it was an impressive collective effort nonetheless.
Hard to pick a MOTM here, but the quartet of Kinsky/Gray/Spence/Bissouma stood out to me.
