I don't get how you can be so realistic about the board and their abject failure, but when it comes to Ange - who's shown the exact same level of ineptitude - you give him pass after pass.

Not a dig, pal...you're obviously entitled to your opinion. Just keen to understand is all. You think Ange is failing cause the board are utter shite...and that he'd do well if we had proper leaders?

Honestly mate, I'm equally confused by your personal grudge against the manager... You've never met the man and make 5 posts per day about how you see through him and hate him.

I'm giving him no passes for losing 4 of 4 NLDs. I'm making no excuses for our recent run, I'm trying to be as objective as I can but that also means that I'm not having 90% of the narrative driven bollocks that pops up.

AND... most of all, I am sick of the permanent loop we are stuck in with these owners. For me, it's about keeping a laser focus on the people really responsible for making us competitive.

It's not delusional to think that a club like Spurs can compete to win things in this country. There are members on this board old enough to remember when we did win things. Unless we are saying English football is so fixed that we should just accept our place and play our role and be happy with 8-4th every year whilst being bantered about trophies?

I can remember cringing at the time as he obviously courted the job.

The sacking was off the back of a culmination of events which I think went as follows:

* Club very publicly back Harry through tax evasion court case
* rumoured to be a shoe in for England job and does nothing to downplay links
* wants to extend his contract once doesn’t get England job
* hassles Levy about contract during the mourning period of his mother’s passing
* hires new super agent (think it was Jose’s) prior to meeting obviously with the intention of playing hard ball
* flabbergasted that he’s let go at meeting as club wants to go ‘in new direction’ with younger coach

I really liked Harry and he’s probably in my top three Spurs managers, behind Burkinshaw and Poch, but at worst he was disrespectful and unappreciative towards the club, at best extremely naive and totally lacking in self awareness.

Like I said, architect of his own downfall.
Great posts👏👏👏

Fair enough, works both ways.

It's nothing personal. First & foremost, I don't rate him as an elite football manager, he should be nowhere near the Spurs job...he's given us ample evidence of that. You don't need to have your coaching badges nor have played the game to know his system is flawed and that he's way out of his depth. As for his character, I saw through his Mr Nice Guy act pretty rapidly...but then again as a business consultant who's worked all over the place with various orgs and tons of C-execs, including on how they lead & communicate/present themselves internally and externally, maybe I've got some kinda predispositions. Or I just got eyes & ears and I see through our PR team's bullshit easy.

One zillion per cent with you on this.

As above.

I still think we should stick by Ange until end this season. We need a stronger squad for him would love to see this at least once:

......................Vicario.......................
Spencer.....Romeo....Ricky....Udogie
......................Gray...........................
....Kulu.......Bentacur.....Maddison...
............Solanke.....Son/Richarlison............

Just been on SC and read a number of times how Ange has a very high ceiling that is why people are still backing him. The truth is he doesn’t, yes when we have won we have won with large margins. That is not the reality of those games. West Ham and Villa we went on short sprees of scoring we were not incredible the whole game . The fact is Ange’s tactics can lead to a short period when the press is working to a lot of goals scored over a short period.

The problem after that there is nothing built into to control a game. Look how many close games we have thrown away Wolves, Fulham Everton at Goodison last year, even the Brighton game this season. It is literally one tactic and if it doesn't work we lose 90% of the time.
I agree. This "high ceiling" is nonsense. Occaisionally it comes off yes. But ... it comes off less and less, and the ceiling surely has to be based on the average outcome, one swallow etc

Totally agree with you.

Nothing "high ceiling" about a a good win here and there and dross the rest of the time.

I don’t understand how anyone can still defend Ange from a football perspective. Wanting Levy to take the main portion of blame is absolutely correct but look at what’s happening on the pitch.

Ange played a very strong starting XI against a team of semi-pros last week and was one inch away from getting knocked out 1-0 before extra time. His football doesn’t work. Just because we had some little goal flurries in games against knackered or shit opponents doesn’t mean it can work consistently.

Rangers (1), Roma (2), Tamworth (0), Leicester (1) , Coventry (2), Wolves (2), Fulham (1), Bournemouth (0), Forest (0), Palace (0), Ipswich (1). We scored 10 goals across those 10 games against lesser teams (not including ET against Tamworth). TEN! And won just one, a last minute miracle against Coventry. Any competent manager can nullify this brainless football if they can get their players organised and running around.

The goal scoring stats this season are completely distorted by wins against teams like City, United, West Ham and Southampton who literally EVERYONE is pissing on this season because they are so shit.

I like Ange and think he should stay. It might be childish when a manager blames everyone other than themselves and their player but it definitely works….

All Ange had to do is say after the game is that we soaked up the pressure and got a goal and if we went into half time at 1-0 we win the game. That incorrect corner decision cost us the game. Do I believe this is the case, absolutely not and we probably still would have lost. What this does though, is it keeps the players on his side and creates a siege like mentality. Coming and saying we weren’t good enough although it’s the truth, the players would be really pissed off because they would be thinking you’re criticising us for simply carrying out your tactics. Look at Bissouma, makes a mistake for playing the Ange way then get hauled off. He would be thinking whatever to Ange saying ‘ the mistakes are on me’???

I like Ange and I think he deserves more time given the injuries but he needs to improves drastically at managing the egos of this dressing room. He needs to go on the attack and start attacking the refs, the journos etc…

It’s all about the mind games at this level….
Biss played 2 hours vs Tamworth. Im pretty sure the plan was to take him off at Ht and bring Maddison vs tired Woolwich’s legs.

It’s what Ange said he tried to do vs Newcastle. He can’t rotate because of squad availability so he’s trying to plan in-game rotations

When I read shit like this then maybe only a 0-4 at EFC will bring people to their senses and force Baldy's hand
Listen this season is just a disaster whether it’s Ange, Poch , Ancelotti, Or Klopp.

Where we are now is where Newcastle were last season. Champions league, injuries galore and at one point they were 12th. They’ve stuck with Howe and had luck with injuries and now they’re flying.

Ange needs another season before we can truly judge him… also he needs a transfer window where we sign players who dont need to show their ID to get into a nightclub…

Some people are saying our attack is not a problem since we are second or third in goals scored in PL.

They dont see though that we are struggling to score more than one goal in half of our PL games.

What concerns me is the board will sleepwalk through anything but a loss continuing to parrot these bullshit claims about supporting the manager and "getting structures in place". I never want Tottenham to lose but I find myself not caring if we do this weekend because it might finally be the nail in the coffin that buries Postecoglou.

The only teams who would be satisfied with being where we are in the table are the promoted sides, West Ham class this as such a disappointing position to be in they have already binned their manager, yet here we are giving a guy who has vastly underperformed with the squad at his disposal this season "full backing" to continue our rapid nosedive down the table.

We haven't even got most of the injured players that people are claiming will transform our season back from injury yet, and with the long layoffs they've all had with this apparently mysterious (nothing to do with the way we play or anything) hamstring epidemic, we'll be looking at late feb-early march before they're back to match fitness and fully integrated. We might not see Udogie in any meaningful way until the back end of the season. If Ange can't win with this team we are too far from safety not to bin him off now and steer the ship right before that becomes an alarmingly real possiblity.

I’ve even had West Ham fans taking the piss out of us in the last 24 hours now they are ahead of us. These are West Ham fans who know they are shit too!

I guarantee 100% we won’t lose on Saturday
