We're on the fringes of a struggle, in my view.

So'ton and Leicester are dead certs. Then one of Wolves, Everton and Ipswich. Three poor teams and only one can get relegated, so we should be OK. Also, we do score goals - teams that get relegated are usually the ones that can't find the net. We're also due some players back and I feel we'll improve once we have a few more people to pick from. In short I think we've got more in the squad than our rivals.

That said, why are we even discussing this FFS. It's a league season that could be kindly described as underwhelming.

We aren’t in a relegation battle ; only because Wolves / Ipswich / Leicester will fill the two remaining spaces . However bad we may be ; they , barring something totally unforeseen, are very much worse off.

Obviously, it’s a F-ing scandal that we should e even be having this conversation. To think finishing 15th or 16th could be seen as any sort of
« achievement « .

But , as the old saying goes it seems to be « Who we are Mate « ; right now at least.

Shambolic state of affairs in my opinion.
 
We'll see where we are next Sunday. There's no way Wolves beat Chelsea tomorrow and Ipswich getting pasted tonight keeps them comfortably below us .

If we beat Leicester I think we're safe personally. If we lose then we're going deep into it.

We very much are in a relegation battle , to think otherwise is very very naive , Hopefully we get Romero and VDV back this month and we can win a few games to keep us up but if we carry on like this we will go down !

This is the thing. Had we beaten Everton, I’d have said a 10 point lead over them at this point of the season was pretty safe. Now it’s 4 points.

Same with Leicester. We have to win these “six pointers” and it’s fucking embarrassing that’s what the season has petered out to.

And before people tell me about cups, have a word.

Where do those 16 points come from?

We are currently on a run of 5 from 30. We’ve lost 24 games out of the last 50 in the premier league, almost 50%.

At this point beating Leicester and Ipswich should probably be enough. Losing to either or both is not even worth thinking about.

Ange got Whittlesea Zebras relegated in 2009. I do have faith he has learned since then though. We need to give him time and more importantly, heavily back him in order to make the system work. It’s the only way Ange will succeed here

Think we will need around 36 points to be sure, so four wins or three wins and a handful of draws?

If we are lucky we may have a bottom three as bad as last year where even 27 points (one win from now) was enough to stay up. As a rough guess I think 33 points will be enough this season.

And we still have to play Leicester and Ipswitch
 
Just think, next year we could be playing 48 league games against Millwall, Stoke City and possibly Orient. There won't be any difficulty getting tickets and we will be watching a whole new team. Please God NO, NO, NO !!
