Player Spurs Youth 24/25 (including younger players loaned out)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Wednesday 22 January @ 19.00 - Spurs u21 v Dinamo Zagreb u21 (PL International Cup)

Last U21 Squad
Gunter, Black, Arganese-McDermott, Andiyapan (McKnight 46), Robson, Cassanova (c), Kyerematen, Tyrese Hall, Ajayi (Lehane 27), O Irow, Akhamrich (Rowswell 83).
Substitutes (not used): Maguire, Baptiste.

Spurs can no longer qualify for next round of International Cup, so match is a 'dead rubber' With Spurs first team playing in EL on Thursday and a long list of injuries, there will be a lot of youngsters on the 12 man bench - so anyone in Wednesday's U21 squad will not be going to Hoffenheim on Thursday. Not too many of the likely u21 players will be involved with first team squad - maybe Ajayi, Akhamrich (maybe injured ?) , Hall ?

Ok, cheers.. Fingers crossed then, cos he's big talent.

UK law on minors (defined as those under age 18) signing contracts is a bit of a nightmare

The rules seem to be interpreted as :
Under age 17 - A minor cannot be held to a playing contract - Thompson's position atm.
Age 17 and over - Playing contracts with a 17+ year old are enforceable, providing there is an element of education provided, an apprenticeship and the contract is overall beneficial to the minor
Age 18 and over - Playing contracts of 3 years are enforceable (I note Hall signed a 5 year contract in May 2024 when he was 18 but maybe as season was at an end its enforceability wasn't a real issue)

A lot of clubs, including Man City and Chelsea, have been targeting younger players - hence us losing those 2 players 2 years ago to Southampton whose youth recruitment was headed up by ex Man City guy. So I hope Spurs are on top of our academy lads contract situation is being closely monitored.

Posters often ask which of the kids is likely to make it.

Agree to some extent - but I think its whether they are on a contract of 3 or more years rather than precise length.

And of course, contracts are renewed/extended from time to time, so I'd imagine both Abbott and Keeley's contracts will be offered new contracts in the summer or before as they will both be down to 2 years left on current contracts, yet currently both possibly having some of the best loans in this group, which indicates they have a high ceiling and Spurs will want to tie them into longer contracts and reward with higher salaries etc
