If we do miss out on Tel it would not be a suprise. But I'd say it would be a massive let down for the fans and club again with lange flying out to Munich last night only for another premier league club to get him without ever making the effort we are.

Although, I have found over the years that when the misery of another futile season is reaching its depressing peak, I can change my focus to the upcoming season for my alternate club. I'm an optimist, so am at my best during pre-season! Unfortunately that hope is dashed far too quickly against the cold hard rocks of reality.

Both are veritable sleeping giants though. It will make the eventual success all the more sweet. Just hope I'm around to see it 😭

Freo here mate. Our fortunes haven’t been as dramatic as yours the last 15 years or so but we’re not far off. At least you have flags, but I guess that’s where the similarities with Spurs are for you. We’ve got a lone McClelland trophy on the mantelpiece from ten years ago.

Yeah definitely. Fits every profile the club wants. He's only 19 so suits the current long term project.

His profile offers short term releif (can cover for Solanke over next few weeks as Richarlison is unreliable) but he can also play wide and is a better dribbler than a lot of our wide players. He could also potentially work as a long term replacement for Son on the left. To me he's the perfect signing for where we are at. Both short term boost but also a long term prospect.

Problem is he's a top prospect and bigger clubs than us want him! It'll be a big surprise if we can sign him.

I'd be surprised if Villa mount a serious approach, pretty sure they were backed into the Duran sale by PSR issues so wouldn't make much sense for them to turn around and spend 2/3rds of the cash coming in on a player who will probably be on twice the wages that Duran was on considering he signed from MLS and only had 1 extension under him at Villa, where Tel is probably already on good money at Bayern and will expect a good raise out of this move considering the wide interest.
