I'm not trying to impress anyone just giving my best opinion on it and now the main Bayern journalist is saying exactly what I told you an hour ago.
If I'm his agent I'm only agreeing to anything more than a 3 year deal with an absolutely ironclad release clause for 70M or whatever.Yeah, I'd like to think he'd choose us over Villa. But Chelsea, United and Woolwich is a different story. He might only want to join us on loan too which could then scupper things. Hard to know if he agrees to sign a 5 year deal. Its going to be a hard deal to close.
Dont they normally agree with player first then club nowadays?
Got a feeling lots of journos are playing catch up on this.
Generating player sale income is critical for any club in the era of PSR.
Dropping a huge upfront fee on their PSR sheet for a player that wasn't in their starting XI will enable improvements all over the squad for years.
Well, those people are wrong. That narrative wouldn't hold with a LOT of people if we did similar.
Richy can’t stay fit, Solanke is out, even just to have a target man for the rest of the season then get Dibling on the wing I assume in the summer is better than nothing. We then will need to replace Richy and if Tel is only a loan with another striker.
If the window is Tel and Tomori then it’s something even if way too late.
You don't make an agreement with the club unless you have an idea that the player is interested.
I just think he knows he'll have a choice of clubs if a deal can be agreed. I can see it dragging out until Monday. Once United know what's happening with Rashford and/or Garnacho, Woolwich know where they stand and Chelsea decide if they have enough room for a 26th winger.
My biggest fear is Woolwich will take Rashford from United, and Tel will go to United.
I think the big difference is that as Spurs fans we know that the money raised from sales won't ever be properly reinvested into the team. I don't think Villa have those same fears considering how astutely they reinvested the Grealish money. That narrative wouldn't hold with a LOT of people if we did similar.
Except the fact we have shitloads of PSR headroom vs those teams and its January which is a window clubs are notoriously wont to spend in, that's literally the only reason we have any chance of getting a player that United, Chavs, Woolwich et al are interested in.
€60mil on a kid that barely scores that again is a left forward
What a waste
For the pursposes of this season; what's the problem with:
Rich <> Tel (even if it means shopping for a permanent replacement in the summer)
Werner <> Dibling.
?
Now you're definitely being facetious.I don't have access to the up to the minute PSR numbers for those teams. Do you?
