Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I see united in talks and considering a loan move.

My question is, would Bayern sanction a loan move when we've slapped 50 million on the table?

If he goes out on loan and flops, Bayern probably won't get an offer close to that again.

Surely Bayern will want to take our deal over any others, unless other clubs also match our offer.
If he refuses to join us then yes I guess so . United are crap but they pay properly, if he does well there they will smash any Spurs salary if they sign him permanently.

If you were not a fan who would you join .

He’s sat on the bench for a team that has won more than its fair share. He will face the same issue moving to a similar team. He wants game time. That’s why we are a chance. Would be a “rental” for a couple of years and prove himself before he’d move to a team that wins all the trophies, or he stays because we are now winning all the trophies.

Obviously option B is the preferred choice.
Quite the selling point if you think about it . We are way more shit than your other options, you will easily get in our team . Have you got any brothers or cousins who play ?

No team has paid a single penny in trf fees for Dybala since that saga.......... Both us & (a very spendy at the time) Man U both told him (his 350kpw wage demands), Juve (38m) and his poxy image rights (another alleged 30-40m) bollocks to piss off and have been proven right to have done so.

How you equate this to the Tel situ is proper random.
I never said I was or wasn't happy for us to bring Dybala in, personally even at the time I thought he was a bit of a hype job and didn't think he had the physical attributes to acclimate correctly to the premier league, nonetheless it's a good example of a very publicised chase of a player in a January window, that - for the very reasons you just stated actually - was never likely to come off. There were plenty of our own fans at the time who were very keen for us to bring him in and we were led to believe we were leading the race the entire time only for the thing about his image rights to scupper the deal; had we not fucked about the entire window putting our eggs in that basket we would have had time to explore other options.

Across north London, Tottenham are also looking at attackers, hilariously entering the race for Southampton’s Tyler Dibling. Most likely, the player joins Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, both also interested, but the enticing opportunity of full Spursification, bringing with it a life of perpetual failure and untold misery, may yet win the day.

It seems The Guardian have a complete wanker writing for them. They actually put this out today
Actually think we might have a better chance than both those clubs if we try seriously for Dibling, mainly due to his age, you would think his family and agent would be telling him to stay in the country and particularly coming to us keeps him in the South of England for now.

I know the move hasn't particularly worked out for him but I would say the fact Dragusin came to us over Bayern last January goes to show that young players are definitely plotting out their early career paths much more carefully than they would have in the past, Dibling is very likely to go to Dortmund or Bayern and sit on their bench, but having watched him this season I think he would take Johnson's spot in this or a similar attacking system no problem. He strikes me as being beyond his years in terms of physical maturity, he just needs gametime now to get to that truly elite level, think he will end up even better than Gordon at Newcastle tbh.

we may stand a chance! If he came to us he would be playing each and every week, get good exposure in the best league in the world and get to live in London (huge for guys his age) plus he is young enough that if he plays well for us he could easily move on in a few years to a much bigger club than us! He is currently stagnating at Bayern and would likely end up that way if he moved to a Chelsea or Woolwich, not even sure he’d get a boat load of minutes at united either

Crazy how folk don't understand how Utd are an attractive destination because they're Man Utd lol
I think that shine has worn off for the top top players! They haven’t signed the crème de la crème for years now! Last big buy was pogba and that was close to 10 years ago! Young talent will look at that club and think there is a chance your career will be dead going there! Say what you want about us, players generally move onto bigger and better things after their time with us.

Varane?
Casemiro?
Sancho?
De Ligt?

Anyway regardless of that they're still a massive club despite their problems...come on it's understandable if some players would prefer a move to them because of it's stature.

Jonathan Liew?

Doesn’t look good does it. Feels like it needed to move last night. What can you do. If he doesn’t want to come, he doesn’t want to come. Hoping the £50m gets used elsewhere and doesn’t suddenly disappear.
