Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Yeah but that's what the bloke from Lens is for. I suppose we are likely losing Davies in the summer also. I can see us after brining in another 2 CBs one to replace Romero and one Davies

I see no reason why we would be losing Davies in the summer? Easy contract extension for another season there.

I imagine he'll stay on and then maybe move into coaching or something, hopefully with our u18s.

Tel had an opportunity to come to a big club by most metrics.

Bayern don't want him, and you would think they know a player of likely star quality.

Some players think too much of themselves or are fearful of change. Sometimes/not often they are proven right.

Tel is young, so it's understandable.

I think never chase a player who seems reluctant to come, because it's often one short step to being unsettled.
I think it’s understandable that he only wanted a loan and to score some goals and try and come back and make it at Bayern. It’s hard to leave a club of their stature. But if he truly thought about it, he’s never gonna displace Kane at CF, and they have so many wingers and are strongly linked with Wirtz and Gittens for the summer. He’ll end up leaving anyway. He needs to get genuine minutes under his belt, he’s only started 11 professional games.

Yes, he is currently better than Moore and Johnson. Odobert is injured until April, so is a moot point. As long as it isn't a permanent transfer or loan with obligation, I think it would be a good signing.

Ange Postecoglou has delivered the positive news that six players could return in the near future.

Guglielmo Vicario (out since 23 November), Brennan Johnson (15 January), Destiny Udogie (29 December), Wilson Odobert (18 September), Timo Werner (12 January) and James Maddison, who picked up a calf issue at Hoffenheim last week, are all expected to be available in 10 days' time.

Odobert should be back earlier than you think

£70m is serious money, but if we were seriously after him then that bid would have gone in 1st January.

I can't see Palace selling him now, and if he has a choice of clubs to go to in the summer with 12 months left on his deal, then I can't see Spurs being top of that list. They're trying to get ahead of that I guess.
