Really need to buy a forward now. Mbeumo would be my preference but that's never happening. Dibling or Delap? Good long term picks so wouldn't mind them. The Bailey loan just stinks. That's just another werner situation and is a pure cop out. We should be trying to sign players who could walk into our team - not players who are just squad players. Bailey won't feature at all once brennan and odobert are back!
Werner for 6 months as a stop gap to get a better player in the summer was a good loan... getting him for another year after was crazy. Bailey would be the same imo.

When we talked to him, he seemed very amenable to the move - but I think (20/20 hindsight) its clear he was using the threat of a move to try to put pressure on Munich to play him more. That's blown up in his face, but it also wasted a lot of time of Spurs and other clubs.
Little prick tease who doesn't know what he wants. Tbh at 19 with 12 starts he can fuck off and sit on their bench to fight for a place like any other 19 year old with fuck all real experience. Probably getting bad advice by an agent or entourage of people with meal tickets.

Ange I think has already said he see Gray really as a midfielder and that’s his future, most likely our DM and perhaps he wants him there earlier.

So you are left with the below for the rest of the season. In short 3 reliable CB’s for 4 competitions so having a spare on loan is probably a reasonable shout especially if Ange wants to move Gray into the middle. Clearly the thinking is that we need an extra body.

VDV: injury prone
Romero: Injury prone and off in the summer
Dragusin: Injured
Danso
Davies
Gray

I do think though after getting Gray a RW should be the main priority.

I get what you mean.
But first of all - we cannot look things in just this season perspective. Dragu can be out until next season, but he is still our player next season. It is not reasonable to just pile lot of CBs cause one is injured this season. Has to be long term planning.

I agree with writing off Romero from next season and that I already addressed.
I also agree with Gray being moved to midfield, that is why I used him as emergency option, not to say that it his his main task.

You seem to forget about Vuskovic.
He will be 18 soon and joins us in the summer. I do believe that if Gray could play that many games in CB as starter, having someone physically stronger, more senior football experience and CB by trade, we have to consider him as real option for starting EPL games next season.

So even without Romero we have -
VDV
Dragusin
Danso
Davies
Vuskovic

That is FIVE specialist CBs. That means that even if one is constantly injured, you still have two sets of CBs to use.
AND further options to use as cover if really needed.

And I mean, I do agree- there always could be more quality and depth. But there are other positions too.
We literally do not have even 2nd choice LB right now and we are signing 6th choice CB? Sorry, from whole squad perspective it does not make sense to me.

I think it's Real Madrid tbh. They are the only club with the resources to deal with Levy.
Most likely but you never know, I think he probably just wants a 6 year contract on fuck off wages somewhere he will realistically win things at club level before he retires, if that is Real Madrid I'm sure he'd be dead keen but I think if say one of the Italian giants made him their primary target (could see Juve coming in?) or Barcelona/Atletico were keen I don't think he'd turn any of them down. I think £70m probably sees him part ways, it's not unachievable for a few clubs.
