Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Squads don't rotate enough with the current limits, winning the next game is too important. Extending will do little.

PSR limits wages, another 5-6 full time seniors, clubs Will take the risk with smaller squads.

Only way something changes is if too players or leagues put a cap on # games a player can play a season. That may change behaviour.
We had Pep and Klopp moaning about only being able to name 7 subs or make 3 in total, then during the next game making 0 subs. Rotation is a massive issue for a lot of teams.

Would be nice to be surprised but I don’t see us signing anyone else today, reckon we’re done now

Been a crapper of a window

I don't see that making a difference for the likes of Forest, the problem is going to be lack of meaningful depth to rotate with the first XI, and PSR rules are the main barrier to having a squad strong enough to fill 30 spots meaningfully.
Yeah, was just talking off your post.

It would hugely benefit the biggest clubs though, which is what UEFA always want.

We should be lobbying now, TBH, using our injury crisis as the argument point. It would benefit us hugely (relative to all but City, Chelsea, Liverpool), maybe on par with Woolwich.

If we could add 5 players to Europa squad (3 overseas, 1 HG, 1 CT for example), we could justify our favourites tag. Next season though is surely a no brainer.

Despite optimism last night it's now given way to pessimism, we don't seem to have any new irons in the fire at this point and the only big-name player with a "saga" in this window (Tel) has already rejected us, I don't really see anything out there we could realistically pull off at the 11th hour apart from a signing that basically only strengthens us until our injured players return, which would be pretty pointless IMO. Even Dibling wouldn't particularly move the needle right now and it looks like we've fucked that off anyway.
A 2nd choice keeper and a loan CB, not exactly the transfer window Levy needed to pull out of the bag to show he's backing the manager he's refused to sack through an absolutely horrendous couple of months. I think I'd be angrier at this stage if he did sack Postecoglou after the league cup semi should we go out, because it would make it clear as day he just didn't want to bring in a new manager while there was an opportunity in the transfer window to help back him to achieve results and hit the ground running.
