Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yep he would be a great shout. I think a little more pragmatism some of the obvious game management like we saw against Brentford and a player like him to anchor the midfield. We'd be way harder to beat.
Yeah and that’s the frustrating part, years gone by we’ve had a dembele, wanyama or a palacios.Remember when Redknapp signed palacios made such a difference, wasn’t a spectacular player but he was very effective made a massive difference.

LB/LCB - Hato for me, maybe that esteve maxime guy from burnley?

MF - I would be happy with any of Ugochukwu, Cardoso, Stiller, Chris Rigg, or Wharton
RWF - Depends Odobert, Yang at QPR etc, but Bakayako would be fantastic

RCB if romero leaves - Araujo has a 65m release clause, would be the perfect replacement imo, and he could hold it down til Vuskovic comes good

Striker - Hoping tel comes good, no real planning besides shipping out richy.
Araujo just extended his contract with Barca - and he would not swap Barca by going to Spurs.

These are the players I would not mind leaving Spurs this summer:
Forster – contract ends. But looks like a likeable person with good influence in the dressing room, though…

Reguilon – contract ends.
Romero – his mind seem to be “elsewhere” (maybe Real M.), so if a good offers come in then Spurs should accept it.
Dragusin – does not have the speed or ball-skills to be an high-press defender.
Porro – In case of a good offer. He would thrive in La Liga or the Bundesliga but the EPL seem to bit too fast & furious for him.

Bissouma – quality player on his day but not consistent enough to keep Spurs' CMF together.

Werner – contract ends.
Solomon – found his home at Leeds.
Richarlison – too injury prone.
Gil – not an EPL type of player.

Maybe out:
Rodrigo Bentancur
– if he get back the form he showed in his early days I’d keep him.
Johnson - not a high-press possession player but much more of an counter-attacking forward but he's still 23
Scarlett – turning 21 and has yet to prove he’s EPL quality and was not getting regular footy evn at Oxford (but he’s now got 4 months to prove himself).
Alejo Véliz – not shown that he’s ready for the EPL but hopefully he’ll do well in La Liga.
Son – soon to be 33, and it shows on the field. His influence in the dressing room is important and if he’s happy being an impact sub I would not mind him staying for another season.

A tentative list of possible targets:
LB
Leif Davis
Tyrick Mitchell
Archie Brown
Miguel Gutiérrez
Jorrel Hato
LCB
Callum Doyle
Piero Hincapié
RCB
Marc Guehi
Dean Huijsen
António Silva
Ousmane Diamonde
RB
Kyriani Sabbe

CMF
Adam Wharton
Hugo Larsson
Ayyoub Bouaddi
Jobe Bellingham
Chris Rigg

Right-footed WF
Jamie Gittens - (he’s most probably too expensive anyway, and Spurs right now have Moore, Odobert, Yang, Son, Johnson, Tel, Richarlison in his position)
CF
Liam Delap
Mathys Tel
Left-footed WF
Tyler Dibling
Johan Bakayoko
Geovany Quenda
Takefusa Kubo
Lee Kang-In (most probably not available and would be too expensive)

Spurs are, again, linked with DM/CM Hugo Larsson. 20 years in his 2nd season as a regular for Frankfurt.

He did but it’s got a release clause for the summer and there are issues with his wage compared to some of the other players. Basically he took a lower deal because of their financial issues on the promise they would raise it when they could.
Before his hamstring injury (kept him out for 147 days) he was wanted by every top club in Europe. If he recovers and want out of Barca he won't choose Spurs...

Who knows but any notion of Postecoglou staying beyond this season would fill me with despair.

I just don't what he adds, be that mentality, strategic coherence or identity, and that is said with or without our full set of players.

Well ideally we buy for the club not just the manager. If he is a decent ball playing 6 then he should in theory be fine for the next guy. That is as long as the club doesn’t do a 180 then hire a defensive style of coach who requires a different type of player.

Adam Wharton being linked (again, yes I know very well that most links are click bait). A few on this forum doubted Wharton's got the athleticism for Angelos system....but Angelos may not be at Spurs next summer....
If Spurs sell Bissouma and Bentancur, I think Wharton could be a quality upgrade.

Great technical player, would love him at the club. Be expensive though.

I don’t doubt his athleticism for Ange, I doubt his athleticism for the premier league

Yes, agree but being basic I just want us to find a manager who came get the players at their disposal playing to their optimum.

It's surely not too much to ask.
