Competition The Non League Football Thread ⚽

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This is a Wealdstone board member on the stones forum...

It's as simple as every National League club is mandated to support it. We actually didn't post anything initially and were contacted by the league to ensure that we did.

Seems not everyone is in favour.

The only thing I don't get is why you would oppose it when it creates an extra promotion opportunity, seems counter intuitive.

Takes the club out of the heart of the community. Could risk becoming a white elephant if I’ll judged.

This is a very common conundrum, often old school non league grounds sit near town centres and make a great opportunity to sell the land due residential development and then move out of town to a new stadium, some examples look quite identical and generic in nature, the plans for the Marine development look good though.

Chesham is no different and the relocation has been mooted for years and at some point, the same may happen there, it's a ramshackle old ground but it has charm. The loss of a location in walking distance of the train station and the local pubs does feel like a dramatic change. It's a difficult square to circle.

Another interesting set of results in Vanarama South.

Eastbourne finally lose their unbeaten streak at Torquay. The top 7 is still tight with 6 points between them and Truro, in 7th has 2 games in hand on Dorking, who sit top of the pile.

Biggest shock was possibly Borehamwood losing at home to Weston-super-Mare 1-0.

Enfield gave themselves a lifeline with a 1-0 win at Aveley and still have a slither of hope at survival, especially with Welling having almost the worst form of any teams in the league.

Slough also won their first league game since November with an impressive home win against Maidstone.

I was at Chesham playing bottom team Weymouth, won 3-1 but only due to 2 super goals in the first half, a lovely 20 yard hit to the top corner and a free kick on the edge of the box. However, had Weymouth taken their chances, they could/should have come away with a point or more.

Shout out to my local team Chichester City FC. Punching well above their weight in Isthmian Prem and on an unbelievable run at the moment. If you're in or around the area go watch a game. It's £12 and they have a nice bar.

Did Lewes vs Potters Bar today. Lewes lost 2-3.

Not much quality on show but an entertaining game all in all, particularly the last 10-15 minutes or so.
Lewes have gone full on Postecoglou… started with 5 wins in a row and now just look very weak against anybody. I don’t know if it’s fair but I wish they put as much energy and focus into the First Team as they do all their broader campaigning and activism. Still, it’s such a great ground to watch a game. Need to plan a visit soon.

Let me know if you are getting to a game. I will try and get to it as well.
