🚨Ange Postecoglou on Micky Van de Ven & Cristian Romero recovery time-frame:

🗣️”We’re looking at the next two or three weeks for them. They’re going well.”

🗣️”I guess with Micky, we decided to take a different strategy with him. We just want to make sure he’s absolutely right...talking to different people, he’s working with different medical teams and rehab staff to make sure he’s right. He’s working well and feeling good, which is a positive.”

🗣️"Similar with Cuti. We’re just waiting… the healing in his quad is taking longer than we thought. He’s got one more scan to make sure it’s healed properly. Once we get that sign off, we should be good to go.”
I’m actually taking the fact that Mickey has gone to an external expert for care on the hamstring as a positive. Anything to get away from our cursed medical team.

This is actually a very positive update. Tells you they are looking at both in the long term.

really not sure if we'll really see VDV too much the rest of the season, just have a sneaky feeling he's gonna be in for a couple games, then back out again and up having an op.

Argentina play Uruguay on the 21st of March, we play the 2nd leg Europa game at home March 13th . Think he'll turn up for that to get himself sharp

Solanke could maybe be fit for that too, not much fussed about the league. that's done

Yeah Romero being back fit just in time for that international break is the most obvious thing ever.

Sounds like Maddison will start as well.

Interesting he said Richy, Maddison and Brennan were all calf injuries…,

Does anyone know what type of running causes calf injuries?

Maybe they’ve been doing skipping practice in training or hopscotch? And that’s what is causing all these bloody calf injuries

I always get achy calves when I do star jumps for some reason....so probably those!

Tells us we've fucked off the league and putting all our eggs in the Europa basket. Also tells us Romero is waiting for the international game like everyone thought.

Definitely says we have decided their long term fitness is more important than short term league results.

Romero is another weird one. Why is he having another scan when he returned to training before VDV? Who is requesting that scan? The player? Or our medical department?
