Match Ipswich (A) - 22nd February - 3PM KICK OFF, AN ACTUAL 3PM KICK OFF

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes…..easier to play him from the start and if he tires substitute him than have him come on off the bench and tires when he would probably not be substituted.
Tiredness isn’t the issue, it’s a recurrence of his injury. Im sure the player will have a recovery plan so already knows how many minutes he can play for . Usually makes sense to play the end of the game than at the start when coming back from injury with less than 45 minutes. in the second half the opposition will be fatigued , and he can be used if and when required, which makes more sense strategically.

Reason to start returnees - they’ll be better prepared / warmed up than if coming on as subs after an hour. At HT bring on Porro (move Spence to LB), Moore, and Kulu. Rest Son completely.

Loads of pace in that lineup.

Djed and Brennan used to link up well at Forest. Not sure we’ve ever tried them as a combo here.

Players just back from injury, Ipswich are decent, turned us over at home, and posters on here think 3 or 4 youngsters can simply be played together and win.

It's folly.

Posters on here have the dreams of Roy of the Rovers. Comic book football isn’t it.

Enjoy it for what it is. A bit of entertainment. These lineups rarely replicate what the managers pick.

It’s more of a “who can be the most mental” type exercise.

Ipswich aren't decent really though are they??..they're in the bottom 3....they've not long lost at home to Saints, one of the worst teams in premier league history...they have one good player who we couldn't handle at home admittedly. If you took Delap out of that team there wouldn't be much in it between them and Saints.

I stand by what I wrote.

When we win come back to your point and I will concede its accuracy.

Well they have got 8 points from last 10 matches We have got 10 points from 10 matches.

Have we been convincing in last 2 games where we got 6 of those 10 points. I’d say not that convincing.

So not much in that form really.

Ipswich are running out of home games. This will be down to how hard Ipswich fight and how much their manager wants to prove to levy he can outmanoeuvre Postecoglou.
100% he’s being watched by our hierarchy. McKenna that is.

It’s a game for men not boys that’s for sure.

Tirednss not the issue, after an injury it is an issue.

McKenna is already 13 points behind Postecoglou.

Super post.

Of course we have the greater quality, and on form we would expect to put Ipswich to the sword.

If we are at it, get ahead and quell the Ipswich flame, then all good. I actually think being at home puts more, and not less pressure on them.

If it's close and we fail to show our class, then it's anyone's game.

We should win but we definitely must not lose, if for nothing else than to start to build a bit of momentum.

I do think we will win.

Doesn’t that depend on the 3-4 youngsters?

Bergvall has been better than Biss or Bentancur this year. Gray has earned his minutes and Odobert did more in 10 minutes than Son did in 80 vs UTD.

Surely you pick the players who are in form regardless of age?

I see this as the perfect game to rest Porro, Son and Kulusevski given we have a squad back now. None of them are on form atm so it doesn't weaken us leaving them out. Allow all 3 to be fresh to start the City game midweek. After resting Gray last weekend, I think we should give him a start in midfield against Ipswich as it would be too big a step throwing him in there against City. See how he gets on against Ipswich and then we will know by the time the big Europa games come around if he's good enough to start there over the likes of Bentancur and Bissouma. Hopefully Danso is fit or else it'll have to be Gray and Davies at centre back again as no other options!

Vicario
Spence Danso Davies Udogie
Bentacur Gray Maddison
Johnson Tel Odobert

My idea of the team Vs City 4 days later would be:
Vicario
Porro Danso Davies Spence
Bergval Bissouma Sarr
Kulusevski Tel Son

6 changes without weakening either team and a good balance. Moore could push for a start in both games too but with Odobert and Johnson back, I can see him really struggling for minutes!

Hahaha, for 2nd week in a row I just keep looking at those lineups and laughing my ass off.

Again same point - Bergvall, Gray, Maddison, Odobert, Tel, Moore. Front 6 with average bodymass of what? 68 kg :D ?
Is this U16 league in some people view? They would be bushed aside by any opponent in EPL today with absolute ease.

Bissouma/Bentancur/Sarr - 1 of them will certainly start.
And in frontline Kulusevski I am afraid is still needed, though he could use some rest too. Potentially him starting and on 60ish minute mark Odobert on for him?

And by that you mean that Odobert dribbled around a bit?
While Son was involved in goal AND did set up Tel for brilliant chance.

Sounds like football match would be won based on "dribbles completed" or "touches in opposition box". But as surprising as it might, it is actually about scoring more goals than the team we play against.

If you didn't watch that Son performance and think he looks like he'd be better off coming on against tired legs for this one and maybe resting a bit for City 3 days later, then we probably just see different things when we watch football.

I can read in your tone that you think they way you see football is the right way and I'm wrong. You are entitled to that view mate.

I'd still start Odobert for this one because Ipswich will sit deep and stand off our wide players. This is the EXACT type of game we need players who can beat a player 1v1 and move defenders out of the low block...IMO obviously
