Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Argentina must be playing in the next few weeks. He only uses Tottenham as a glorified fitness camp for Argentina games. The fact that he's vice-captain is laughable, he clearly doesn't give a shit about the club.

He deserves to be dropped to the under 18's for the rest of the season and then sold in the summer. I only want players that care for the club, and Romero has never given the slightest shit.
I agree with your sentiment. Tbf I’m not sure it’s totally true on Romero but the signs aren’t good. Love the club and play for the shirt or fuck off. It’s not emotional crap - it’s how winning teams are

I think the only obstacle is Prem clubs now are financially so strong that unless the player has run his contract down, you can't really muscle your way in. It may take another season or so of interest and the player looking distracted to end up getting him.

He's not been nearly as good this season, possibly for that reason. I'm not sure what Madrid would pay - he's very good but not near someone like VVD (tbf, absolutely nobody is in the world in that position) so it's not worth some mega fee. Just another very good, athletic CB with room to grow.

Romero on his day is better but he's a good bit older with some recent fitness question marks and more likely to fuck up due to his style. I don't think a big Madrid bid is coming and I don't see Levy selling unless the bid is big.

If Real offer big money early in the window, woolwich might start the rebuild tbh. Their squad is reaching that point pretty soon.

It won't happen so this is a ridiculous statement to even make. But....

Wouldn't it be lovely if Romero gets himself fit for the Europa League games and then snubs the international break with Argentina because he owes us? I know. When has Romero ever put us first so why would he? But it would be a brilliant way for him to show us how committed he is and win over fans like me who question his loyalty and commitment to us!

I know it's early days but you can tell Danso actually gives a fuck and will give his all .

We need these sorts of players for the wars ahead

But I’ll caveat it with… surely him going to play for Argentina if he’s fully fit isn’t a bad thing? He needs matches and minutes… he needs to get match sharpness back after so long out so international break would help that?

He has only played 12 mins for us since he last represented Argentina in November where he knowingly played with a toe injury and had to be subbed off at half time. There has been no international games since that injury but Spurs have had 24 games in that time. He has played 12 mins of them 24 games while missing no games for Argentina!

Personally I think its almost taking the piss if he ends up playing more games for Argentina than he did for Spurs during the November -March period!! He almost has a 100% ratio for playing with Argentina. I'd guess he's missed more than half our games over the last few seasons

Yep, and then he'll get mysteriously injured again immediately after playing for Argentina.

Fuck Romero.

You are a fucking idiot. Just because you have a theory in your head doesn't mean it's true. You think he spends his time not wanting to play football just so he can save himself for Argentina? My god. Thick as shit.

Since he signed in Aug 2021, Romero has missed 68 games through injury or suspension. That's around 36% of all our games in that period. That's absolutely shocking. You can't rely on him at all, and yet somehow he's always magically fit for Argentina.

Why is that?

Because he doesn't give a fuck. He uses us as a fitness camp for Argentina. Nothing more. He needs to be binned off at the end of the season in favour of someone who can be bothered to turn up.

When he can be fucked to get out of bed and play for us, he's a good player... but personally I only want players who actually want to play for Spurs. He clearly doesn't.

His ability to pass accurately out of the back through defensive lines is key for a lot of our attacks. To have that line splitting pass back will be such a plus.

I hope he is sold in the summer.

Doing one or two things well does not compensate for often seen inadequacies.

One marker to praise in my opinion, and that is consistently good performances.

Romero is a million miles away from that as far I see it, especially this season..
