Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That’s your problem though. Nobody knows what you are referring to most of the time 👍
Anyway I know you are probably a bit upset that Son isn’t starting so I will let you off your petulance!
Good that you're speaking everyone else. ,My experience says that 90% here are more informated than you, though.
Going to ignore you as you rarely offer anything worth responding to.
And yea, Son isn't playing and this is what you get. You probably think our attack is amazing 🤣👋

I don’t think our attack is amazing at all. I probably would have started Son today as he has a good record against them and he would have had a bit more space tonight. In my experience 100% on here are more informed than you 👍

He’s just not a top level player anymore, anyone still thinking any other way is in denial I’m afraid.

The signs of decline were creeping in last season, but this season it has gone completely pear shaped. He offers next to nothing every time he plays.

And it’s sad to see, because I think he’s acutely aware himself that he just isn’t up to it anymore. When he came on tonight you would think as the captain he would be bursting to get on the pitch, encouraging team mates and demanding the ball.
What we got was a man that frankly looked like he would rather be anywhere else.

It’s sad it’s fizzled out so badly for him, but any kind of decent offer during the summer should be gladly taken.

Said about our current Assist and G+A leader, both in the PL and in all competitions. He offers "next to nothing" other than better end product than any other player in the squad.

Per 90 assists = 0.35, leads the squad
Per 90 G+A = 0.71, trails only Maddison (0.78)

Definition of cognitive dissonance.

WE need to realise Sonny's position in the Spurs lineup & what it requires from a player he's a winger the main attributes required that are recognised by any form of coach, pundit or player are :-

  • Speed
  • Agility
  • Dribbling skills
  • Game intelligence
The first two attributes are affected directly by age, injuries, fatigue but the only way to combat this to focus on such things in training but if the players genetics do not allow it then it's time to re-think

read the above

I'm not writing Sonny off yet but let's not lie to ourselves here his time at Spurs is coming to an end I just hope it does witha trophy!

You realize he's still the player with the most key chances created on this team?
He's surely not a top level player anymore, but let's not write him off entirely ignoring stats.

A goal contribution every 110 minutes. Only behind Salah, Haaland & Isak.

And people want to get rid. Lol
Our fans should realize we don't get players like Kane and Son very often. We had Bale/Modric but they all left us before their primes. Kane is gone and we still haven't found anyone near his level and it will be so for Son too.

Even when he is shite he still manages 10g and 10as and still creates the most for our team going forward (remember this is his worst season ever for us). Lets appreciate while he is here because I doubt he will stay for next season.

I think this video tells you why he isn't himself these days.
Ange makes him do too much work going back.

I won't write off Son yet. He's still an mportant player for Spurs, not just on the field but off filed as well.
Again another analysis which shows that Angelos is out of his depth in the EPL. It appears that he doesn't know how to "pace" and manage the players in the EPL.
It's the 10 first games of last season that's saving him. Admittedly, that season Spurs was a very entertaining team to watch, and credit to Angelos for that, but now that he's "found out" Spurs no longer win very often nor entertain very often anymore.

Disagree with this. Form is temporary, class is permanent. The problem is that at 32, his minutes need to be managed and he should not be playing more than 60-70 mins a week. He has been playing 190 minutes per week, week in week out for months. Against Ipswich he was very good (I know. I know, Ipswich), but that was after a the first full week of rest between games in months. I personally think he is not suited to Ange's system and he is better as a second striker cutting in off the left in a counter attacking side, and the aggressive press also does not help him at 32 years old.

How can

How can he not be suited to Ange’s system? He’s playing left wing where he gets the ball and has the chance to get at the full back. He chooses to come back and play a simple pass rather than be on the front foot and get at the full back. Against Ipswich when he had a rest the week previously in terms of no midweek game he looked sharp and more energetic.

No matter who the manager is they will demand that wide players work hard so forget blaming a system on wide players being tired. Thats part of a wide player’s job is to work hard up and down the pitch. Sonny is only 32. That’s not old in the modern game.

I was watching Modric the other week and have done anytime I can because he’s one of my favourite all time players and I never see him look tired and I can guarantee you he covers more ground than any winger out there.

I’d love to see that guaranteed Modric stat. Pretty sure he covers around 8km in a match and Son nearer 10km.
