Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We would get £70-80mil for him , but it shouldn't of had to come to that . When Real Madrid came sniffing around Levy quoted them £150mil , RM backed off and went away . It's not rocket science - since then he isn't the same player . He's a highly decorated player , a winner of the World Cup and Copa America , but to see him play/or not play since - it's an insult to our club - his ball watching and brain farts - the guy simply isn't interested in playing for us anymore is he . You don't lose that high quality . Form is temporary , Class is permanent .
100m will do for me.

If VDV breaks down again, then he needs to be the first out of the door, Romero has been unlucky with injuries, was brought back with VDV way too early and now the fuckwit managing the team is shit scared to start either.

I don't know who we would bring in should we sell Cuti, but the caliber of player we'd attract to a team struggling outside the top ten, with a forever injured squad ain't going to be anywhere near as good as Romero.

Fans are quick to judge, most knowing fuck all about the circumstances, and they put a fantasy list of players Lange should just go get.
I think Guehi from Palace could fill the void should we sell him , that's a realistic target and he won't break the bank

After so many years, his poor command of the language at the country he works in tells me all I need to know about his commitment.

We need to stop signing argie players ffs. Gone the the Ardilles, Villa and Lamela.

Not sure I'd go that far.

Lamela never tore it up consistently but I loved him at the Lane. Raw passion, absurdly niche skillset and a genuine bastard on the pitch... and still COYS. I'd take that any day in an otherwise fluffy group.

Levy has a tough decision to make this summer - Will Romero have a more healthy/productive season in 25/26? and will that mean higher transfer fee next summer even though Romero will be a year older and only have 12 months left on his contract? Tough question.

Pretty sure that Romero will have no issue running down his contract - He’s already on 165K a week so I think he’ll be happy to lounge around Hotspur Way for the next 2 years and then collect a big signing bonus (our transfer fee) by signing on a free with Madrid.

Seems like Romero has already had his head turned … so no way he signs an extension with us unless it’s on stupid money … and the chances of that with Levy seems very low - particularly since Romero has publicly called out the board’s lack of ambition.

We already have Romero’s replacement in the right footed Danso and the backup in Dragusin …

Yep. Because he’s been dogplop this season, Romero doesn’t actually hold many cards this summer - other than saying he’s not leaving. If club wants to sell him this summer, but Romero thinks “nah I’ll stay for two more years and run the contract down” the club might end up not playing him much. In which case his career will be toast

If he’s not fully committed then it’s best he leaves this summer for what’re we can get

This club is huge in Argentina. Not sure how many Spurs fans realize it but thanks to Ardiilles, Villa, Poch, and now Romero we are way more popular than other European clubs of a similar size.

We should always be looking for the next big Argentinian talent IMO.

If they really like that Paz from Como, the fact that he's Argentinian would be a factor for me. he's a lefty AM so I'd just want to be sure he's better than Donley who really should get at least one chance for us to show who he is at this level.

I'd be over the moon of we got Romero to extend as well.

Romero will be one of our best players when fit and will continue to be. That's why Real Madrid want to sign him. He'll play whenever he's fit. I think we can't expect him to waste his career under Ange though.

He doesn't give a fuck about us, and for that reason he should be binned off to the under 18's for the rest of the season then sold at the first available opportunity in the summer.

Fuck Romero.

If he's willing to sign an extension at all, he'll probably ask for a raise that'd make him the highest earner on the team, as he's already pretty high on the list at the moment. Meanwhile he'd probably continue missing the every third or fourth match. I don't see Levy of all chairmen agreeing to something like this, nor should he.

I don't get the fear of missing out when it comes to players with questionable attitudes like Romero to be honest. If he goes to another team and tears it up that'll only affirm the point that he was half arsing it here. Hardly a matter of concern.
