I wonder how Kompany would have done for us?

Looked “naive” and clueless for Burnley. Fans wanted him out. Now having Bayerns best league season in a decade or something like than
Think he just shows a lot of it is getting the right coach at the right time. Don’t think Kompany is particularly special as a coach, but he’s fit in with the kind of guy Bayern needed at this time and he’s got a phenomenal squad.

I agree it’s about fit with squad and also fit with club and its size in the league.

I don’t think Bayerns squad is that different to last year though

We clearly need a better manager than Ange, so that means a random lottery of any carbon based life form on the planet. Seriously, there a native tribesmen as yet untouched by western civilisation that could setup a midfield better than Ange.

Interesting why do so many want Iraola and not Fabian Hürzeler then? Brighton play better than Bournemouth, they've just gone above them too .
Why's one the hipsters choice , and the other isn't
Because Brighton have been around European spots for a few seasons now? I am not surprised to see Brighton in top half, I think it's one of their expectations, whereas Bournemouth were always a bottom half team and there was nothing to suggest that was going to change until they hired Iraola.

is he using a system that suits the current squad build?

I have no idea tbh but I remember talk of him when we first sacked Conte because he likes wing backs. We have completely moved away from a squad build for wing backs, we have about 20 wing forwards on the books atm. Is he also a press and high line guy? because VDV and Danso aren't going to work in a sit deep and counter system as well as they do in a high line, pressing system.
I think he's using 3 at the back, but I think Palace have also played 4-3-3 this season. I don't know about his pressing style, I suspect he's more of a mid-block with pressing traps, which is something we should've done under Postecoglou instead of pressing like a bunch of headless chickens. And I think in a mid-block you need more than anything a couple of good central midfielders.

Wasn't that impressed with Iraola today. Sure they missed a bunch of chances but the second half was so chaotic from both teams.

At least the didnt resort to dark arts/cheating like most teams do these days when protecting a lead.

Need to watch the game but having seen the key moments and the fact that we scored twice and hit the post twice after they went 2-0 up, that is clearly a failed audition today.

If you can't beat a Spurs team as badly out of form as we are, after being given a 2-0 headstart... Not a good look.

Nothing that happens at Bayern, short of winning the CL, is impressive, for anyone. Until last years' debacle, they had won the league 11 straight times.

Their payroll is 2.5X their nearest league competitor and nearly equal to the 3 next highest spending clubs combined. Their wage bill accounts for 27% of all Bundesliga wages.

It's a 1 club league.

Kompany's naive tactics work when you have a squad exponentially more talented than and athletically superior to their opponents.

Guys... we need a better owner, we've had better management with no real improvement.
Over to you Levy.
This is not true at all, I don't know why you people keep exaggerating Levy's involvement in the disaster the last 18 months have been.

We've had better management with massively better results.

Spurs have not been this bad since Ramos. Spurs have never paid this much money to be this bad.

We need an ownership change, yes, but that does not at all mean we're 13th in March because of Levy (other than the fact he hired, and hasn't sacked, a complete fraud).

No manager in Spurs history has done so little with so much as Ange.
