YOU saying that anyone else is doing mental gymnastics about anything is absolutely ridiculous. You’re an Olympic level mental gymnast who has admitted numerous times they’ve watched highlights of the game and haven’t seen the whole thing.

If both teams took the chances they had Bournemouth win 5, maybe 6-3. The chances themselves don’t matter, both team fluffed their lines somewhat in front of goal, but if not for Kepa, they win comfortably. Saying “yeah but we should have scored” is as worthwhile as “but we only usually lose by one”.

Taking Bournemouth to where he has this season is not simply ‘above average’ and at this point you’re basically trolling. No one’s said he’s the messiah, they can just see he’s clearly a very good coach who deserved more than a point against us, that happens sometimes.

All you’re doing at this point is getting in early against Iraola because you need to be right about something having been made to look, and making yourself look stupid time and time.. and time …and time again this season.

Bournemouth are good. They finished 12th last season. This season they were great for large stretches, especially when other teams were struggling. Now they have won 1 of their last 5 in the PL and that was Southampton. If they don’t find a way to be more solid they probably finish Top 10 which is fair to describe as above average.

I like Iraola, I have done since Rayo Vallecano but maybe I’m being a touch cynical by saving us all time and talking about all the things you guys will say when you turn on him eventually if he gets hired.

I just dont think he's Jesus Christ like a lot on this forum seem to think he is tbh. decent manager, that's all.
But he'll inevitably come unstuck here

You know what it’s like, when things get bad like this people just want someone to come along who looks like they could do something that makes them feel something for their football club again.

I certainly don’t think he’s the big man himself, but I do think he’s clearly a talented coach who can make a team more than the sum of its parts.

You’re probably right on coming unstuck here, I think we all know now the owners are the real issue, it’s just trying to find someone who can make it bearable in short spaces whilst they’re still here.

Can’t speak for everyone, and I don’t refer to anyone as “you guys” because everyone can do what they want or believe. However a coach like Iraola to me has an actual clear, workable system, and I’ve watched Bournemouth this season and he’s changed things mid game, he’s played systems that work against different oppositions, and he’s shown that on a small budget and with some apparently lesser players, he can get a tune and make them perform to be more than the sum of their parts.

So, if he was to be hired (which I’m not sure he will be) I’ll support the bloke no end because I know the real issue is Levy. Any proper footballing, premier league level coach here will get my support because I know they’re always working against an unambitious ownership.

I want Ange gone, because he simply shouldn’t be here and he’s dragging us backwards. I honestly believe if he stays we’ll be looking at bottom 6/7 next season. With the biggest issue that he’s had more than most other managers, and we luck utterly clueless and uncoached. Yet, he’ll blame anyone but himself. He embarrasses himself, and us.

A proper football coach of the required level here, and I’ll happily back them for many years to come in the hope at some point they get to work without Levy.

If Iraola comes I’ll support him like every coach. I just know the chances are we will be right back here with people calling me clueless for supporting this fraud and it was obvious all along that he was always going to get injuries and the players would run out of gas to finish the season.

Maybe Iraola can handle Levy who might be persuaded to step away from the football side of his business!

Grasping at straws here but you can but hope!

Very possibly, and especially when you consider that keeping Ange next season will lead to even more injuries and running out of gas too .

Amazing mental gymnastics to make excuses for another teams coach.

We deserved to concede plenty more than 2 goals from our own schoolboy errors but Bournemouth weren’t unlucky to concede twice. We should have scored more and would have if we didn’t make so many mistakes in the final execution.

Iraola is having an above average season. He’s a good coach who is definitely following the “In” trend this season. Hes not the messiah though and he will be asking himself what went wrong to lose a 2-0 lead in 30 mins and why their recent record is so bad.
Is this actually a genuine post??

100%. I didn’t watch live. I watched back expecting the worst and it was a fucking mess but not how I expected it to be. We got into dangerous situations with the ball that we should have much more of plenty of times. Sarr also should have scored at 1-0.

I think people are mistaking me for saying it was a good performance or that we deserved a draw. I’m not saying that, I’m saying that we fucked ourselves more than anything and mostly from being rock bottom for confidence. The draw might actually have helped that ahead of Thursday

We always fuck ourselves due to our bizarre 'tactics' and poor execution of said tactic, what's different?

The fact is we deserved to lose and lose badly. It was a absolutely horrendous performance in which we managed 1 open play shot on target the whole game and that was a misplaced cross. A fair reflection of the game would be Bournemouth winning by at least two (and that's being kind).

Individual errors fuck any and every tactic.

There is definitely a case to be made that this system puts players in positions where we are especially vulnerable to individual errors. Bournemouths first goal being the perfect example of that.

But what I’m saying is that the vast majority of errors in this game would be avoided with a more confident squad of players.

The tactic is the direct cause of the individual errors.

I don't need to go into it because it seems like you are aware of this (going by your second paragraph).

Simone Inzaghi
Stay away from italian managers. October when the clocks go back is when their moods turns. Weather is shit, restaurants are shit, food is shit etc etc. Conte couldn't wait to get home back on his jet ski. Iraola top target for me unless real madrid and chelsea come calling.

Hes a modern manager iraola. About a year ago liked the look of how his teams play. Reminds me of poch. If we get iraola next season and dont pan out want poch back in 2026 after world cup to stabilise us for a few years.

I remember when this forum was divided over Luis Enrique....

Reckon a poll now would be 99% in favour of him after watching PSG dominate Liverpool.

Football is like that tho... players and managers go from hot to not in very short spaces of time. I have said and cast my vote now and really cba with anymore manager chat, whether it's Ange or Pep or Iraola or Kieth Burkinshaw.

The one conversation that really matters is the culture at this football club and what it takes to make it a winning culture. Short term results are always within a predetermined range that is set by the permanent culture of the club.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Our next manager is going to be Southgate, whether we like it or not.
