Juande Ramos Dishes Out the Home Truths

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I said he signed the right players to play that system well enough...

And Modric with no PL experience in his natural position could be considered out of position, if he's put LW under those circumstances.

A PL confident Modric was fine at LW. He also cut in under Harry, but didnt under Ramos.
But attacking wide-left is not his natural position either - so I'm not sure how that contributed to his confidence either (the crux of your latest argument)?

Those line-ups are identical and you knows it

People seem to forget the decline in Ramos' side happened after the Carling Cup win. We had a dismal end to that season and what happened in the first 8 games of the next season was just the same.

He lost the team after winning the cup, which is weird. Normally it's an incentive to bigger things but in recent years the league cup has been a poisoned chalice. McLeish, Laudrup, Dalglish all being sacked after winning it.

In my opinion

Keane > Frazier
Palacios > Zokora
Hudd > Jenas
Defoe > Pav
Hutton > Gunter
BAE as LB > Bale as LB
Confident PL Modric LW > Unconfident PL Modric LW

Nothing identical whatsoever other than the name "4-4-2"....which is probably reflected in both results
But you said Ramos set up the team to get sacked - those were the players he had available - nothing wrong with that system itself.

You Modric 'confidence' argument is pure speculation and nothing but a straw-man btw. You knows it.

How is it speculation. Modric imporved instantly when Harry came and played him in the middle.

After a while, he played well at LW.

Under Ramos, he was shit at LW.

Do the maths mate, bejeeesus

Harry didn't play him in the middle as we've proven that already

The whole team improved under Arry - predictably so.

Ramos' set up was identical to Arry's - unless of course Redknapp wanted to get himself sacked too according to your logic

"Honestly, and I say this with no bitterness at all, there were players who were … well, fat." Then he laughs and adds: "They were sedentary."
"A sportsman's physical condition has to be impeccable: your body is your living. A runner is like this," Ramos continues, raising a skinny little finger. "You can't live like the man on the street who's had dessert or cake. If you eat a cake, you're putting in diesel; a sportsman's got to run off super. A sportsman who makes, say, €6m and drinks and smokes and eats. It makes no sense at all."
And so Ramos, who faces Spurs as Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk manager in the Europa League on 20 October in Ukraine, began. "A lad who's 22, 23 and has cash might think: 'This guy's not telling me what to eat.' We trained not far from a McDonald's and we'd see them in there eating hamburgers, drinking Coke but you explain and they understand. 'This is your ideal weight, the percentage of body fat.' I can't go to their houses to watch their eating but we could train morning and afternoon and weigh them. If you're not in shape, you don't play and with work the team started improving."

...now who on earth can he be talking about...?
To be fair, he lost about 2 stone when he cut his hair off this season!!!
(The smoking comment probably referred to Berba though, eh?):bentley:

Saying he wanted Villa and Eto'o is ridiculous.

He should have cited Diego Milito as the example, as by all accounts he was prepared to sign for us, we cocked up the deal and he went to Genoa instead.

Modric played better because he settled. had nothing to do with LW CM AMC Ramos, Levy, Chirpy or redknapp etc. He adjusted. As he adjusted even more he became even better.

Same happened to him at Madrid. Some players need time.

I don't know what his influence was during the latter stages of the carling cup bu other than that the squeaky voiced fuck was useless. We got what we deserved though by fisting Jol live on itv4 and paying a fortune in compensation and wages to Ramos. The cunt is moaning about losing berb and keane but even with them we were shite under him. You don't hear peter shreeves bleating like a wee bitch about getting stiffed in 92 with no gazza, an ancient lineker with toe aids and what little cash we had already invested in jukebox durie.

Toe aids made me howl! hahahahahaha!

His football was shit to watch and lest we forget, with Berbatov and Keane we won less than 5 games (3 including uefa cup games?) since the carling cup win. The very next game after the cup we got battered by Birmingham and drew about 6 games 1 - 1, all of them utter dog shit.

The 5 - 1 is still the best night of my life and I thank him for that...
