I do think we have a number of our attacker who would suit a Dele Alli free second striker role. We don’t have that in Ange’s system.

Son, Tel and Johnson would be useful in a role like that. They aren’t proper wingers. You can see how Pochettino would use them, would Iraola do that with us?

The issue with Son, Tel and Johnson is none of them regularly kill the full back and generate chaos and width but they are all useful in and around the box. However as they aren’t good at holding the ball up like Solanke they can’t play as CF. So it has to be some kind of second striker or free role.

No way frank. The other week we beat them 2 nil he failed the audition. Dont like the idea as well watching Tottenham side launching long throw ins in box. Stoke fans got excited when Delap launched a throw in in box. Were better than that. Iraola all day long for me.
Not saying Thomas Frank is the right man but we beat Pochettino's Southampton twice under Sherwood the season before appointing him. Don't think you can look too much in to the individual games against a potential new manager.

Fucking hell this place has a bigger cult of Iraola followers than any other manager, including the current incumbent.

If you say anything about another coach these simps come at you with
“yeah but Iraola does that all the time”

or “that would never happen under Iraola”…

These Iraolians are getting to vomit levels

Yeah but poch assembled a helluva team and looked a crack outfit at Southampton. Remember under AVB at whl was behind goal for bale wonder goal near end. For most of game Southampton outclassed us under poch. Said to my dad after game that's the best team I've seen play us at whl. We hardly touched the ball until bale scored a worldie. Chuffed we appointed poch. Iraola has similar vibes imo.

Yeah I can agree with that.

Agree. He seems to favor 3-5-2 formation quite a bit, which I find tactically suspect.
Seems to have a good ability to recruit Danish players, which seems to have helped them quite a bit.
I feel Brentford and Thomas Frank are like a modern day Alan Curbishley and Charlton. When they separate they both won't do as good as when they were together.(That's just a feeling rather than anything based on evidence)

I think he sticks to 352 because it has served them relatively well in the prem. And let's be honest they don't have the Greatest squad

I do like Frank though he is a good manager that does make his team better than the sum of its parts but I'm just not sure he would cut it at a bigger club.

Agree- I think he’s very good where he is at. I don’t want to see 3 at the back type managers brought to us on principle- I don’t think it is well suited to how we would like to play as a club.

Yeah I get what you're saying, unless it's a tactical plan during phases of the game like dropping the 6 in the backline when in possession like Poch did with Dier or what Nagelsmann did with Kroos in last Euros, Think this would really suit Archie Gray.

352 when not working can just turn into a line of 6 at the back and struggle to get up the pitch, your right it's not really the way we want to set up.
