His starting CBs got sold in the summer, Hiroki Ito, waldemar Anton and so did their top goalscorer Guirassy.

They replaced them with less quality players.

Also still competing for a European place and calling them shit is harsh considering they would wipe the floor with us.

I thought they were fighting relegation tbh.

I’m not against Hoeness at all btw and the family he comes from doesn’t hurt either. Fits with the recruitment profiles we have done from football family’s as well.

Can we get him out of Stuttgart in the international break though?
I very much doubt we'd get anyone worth having at this late stage of the season.
It's a tough call, do we try and get someone 'better than Ange' now, in the hope we can win the Europa.
Or, do we wait for summer and focus on getting the right man in for the job?
This mess should have been sorted in January when we would have had a better chance of luring a top target.

There are unusually good options that currently don’t have a job.

Good options, yes. But better than options that could be available in the summer? I'd ideally like a manager, that is younger, passionate, develops youngsters (because we have a few) and has premier league experience.
Iraola would be great, I wouldn't be against Frank either.

There are, IMO, much better options than Iraola and Frank available now. I don’t see anything to suggest that Iraola or Frank are built for a club with the ambitions of Tottenham Hotspur. Or at least the ambition of the fans.

No chances we get Alonso. I think Xavi is the most exciting option available now and it would take a lot for us to convince him to come here.

If we wait till the summer then Iraola is the no brainer! But with us still in EL, it feels like we are waisting a glorious opportunity by not sacking Ange now. I can't see how we win that competition with him in charge. The all risk no reward approach will get totally exposed against Frankfurt and we are 100% folding in the away leg! We need a manager who can make us compact to survive the away legs. Ange has proven he doesn't know how to do this and whenever he's tried (yesterday, Liverpool away), we've looked horrendous.

He simply has to go now or else we are writing off the EL and accepting no European football next season under a new manager.

If Real M. does not win neither the CL nor the La Liga this season they will sack Ancelotti and Alonso is the clear no. 1 candidate. If Real M does win the CL" only" I think they'll still keep Ancelotti and Alonso will take another year at Leverkusen and just wait for his time to the Real M. job (which, let's face, right now is considered be the biggest head-coaching in world club football).

I don't know if we could convince Xavi or not, now or in the summer, or whether he would be a good appointment, but I will say two things.

• I can't imagine him taking a job at any other Spanish club (apart from the national team maybe, but that doesn't look like it will be available any time soon). I'm not sure he'd be on the list of the "elites" (Bayern, Inter etc.) elsewhere.

• As far as I remember, he speaks very good English.

It's perception I guess, it could be argued that Mourinho and Conte were built for our ambitions. Look how that turned out.
Obviously it's not a gauge of potential success but premier league experience i think certainly helps.
