Time to go.

Really wanted it to work. Held out on sacking yet another coach to shift the blame from the owners but we’ve done that now and that performance at Fulham was exactly like the Sunday games after EL at the start of the season when we had everyone fit.

More importantly to me, I don’t see in him that he still believes he can get what he wants from this group of players consistently.

Sure, we probably don’t concede if Romero plays 90mins but the midfield selection was way too obviously not leading to much chance of creating anything and he’s picked a MF like that before with exactly the same results.

I get that he’s likely staying whilst we are in Europa but if we could get Xavi in during the international break, I’d pull the trigger.

Fairs.

I'll be honest he's absolutely horrible, I think many fans including myself was guilty of sipping the Ange cool aid because of his bravado and the way he talks but honestly if we played the way he carries himself in press conferences then we'd win the league but truthfully it's just a pile of wank.

What I don't get is how comes the players are coming out every week and saying good things about the manager yet on the pitch they're not even running for him anymore and stopped doing the basics, it's almost as if he's convinced the players that it's okay to lose as long as they are playing the right way because of his philosophy and if they keep doing the right things the results will start to bear fruit in the end, he's brainwashed our players just like he has brainwashed our fans, it's easy to see how because he's just so convincing but the guy's a complete charlatan.

Let's be real. we're not going anywhere near that Europa and likely to get done vs Frankfurt, when we get knocked out of Europe which effectively ends our season it's gonna hit like a ton of bricks...A lot of fans are banking on Europa out of pure hopium because it's a distraction tool for how shit we've been in the league.

Happy to admit I was wrong, massively and TBH I was being a bit of a cunt on here and trolling people the Ange outers for a few weeks, so I apologise to folk on here, maybe I should create an apology form for myself!

Love you all x

Thats all well and good but doesnt cover the fact Ange is no where good enough. A lot of the players yesterday were his.
Tell me this ref Anges mentality of winning every game no matter what. Why did we rest players v Man city. Why was 7 changes made for yesterday? If you want to win every game you play your strongest team. Or is it that shit he came out with v Woolwich only when it suits him.
Believe me, I'm not trying to defend Ange's tactics. He's way out of his depth. But having a manager come in that tries to install a winning psychology is certainly not a bad thing. Especially after Mourinho and Conte.

That Ali Gold article this morning is pathetic. Hyping up some impossible scenario where we can qualify for Europe by finishing 11th. Absolutely ridiculous stuff.

The league and season is done. It's EL or bust. He'll be writing stupid articles now next week about how the "international break is going so well for Spurs" because one or 2 players score for their national teams. I'm a positive fan and love a positive spin but he's taking the piss.

Why not write an article about Ange's team selection yesterday and if he didn't realise we didn't have another game for 18 days when subbing off Romsro at 0-0? No doesn't suit the agenda. Our journalists are as pathetic as everyone else in the club! Loser mentality from the top down
Ali Gold is fairly close to people at the club so his bread is obviously buttered a certain way, so you aren't ever going to see him going nuclear at the club.
Personally I just find him dull.

But I wouldn't expect any great revelations from him

Sorry not attacking you but just another point. You say players in top teams dont accept defeats etc. And in the next line say fans dont want to win certain games.
2 Totally different sets of people and groups. Players are professional and shouldnt want to lose but the fans dont want their rivals winning anything. 2 are totally seperate and 99% of the time players are seperate to all that
I understand your point. It's just seems crazy that fans wouldn't want to back the mentality of the team.
We've been an embarrassment for a while in the media now. If a team is struggling, 'don't worry, you've got Dr Tottenham next, they're Spursy, typical Spurs'. Then Woolwich are celebrating St Totteringham day most years.
On top of that, it's all over the papers that some fans want to throw games....

Another one with the mouth but no action!
If you think you can do better go out and learn the trade!
Nearly all on here could not do better , however I reckon a good percentage couldn’t do worse . Now I for one would happily take a bit of stick in my job for 5 million a year . I will reserve my sympathy for a nurse earning 30k a year being abused by a member of the public as she / he tries to help him/ her . Ange gets no sympathy for thinking he had some fantastic system that has been dismantled in the most public way by better managers .
He will walk away richer than his extremely limited talent deserves , a trade most people can only dream of

I’m gonna be called a Ange disciple again by the usual dickwits

He’s not even playing Angeball anymore, put him and us out of his misery, do us all a favour down under

Also bear in mind the slants we’ve heard you’re all chipped rat, our work has been made harder because of a few tip rats

Mourinho and Conte are serial winners who tried to instill a win at all costs mentality. It didn't work, but I can't see how Ange has done anything which suggests he has more of a winners mentality?

Yeah good points.

I think the players still love the man and he’s defended them all season so they should but right now its pretty clear they they think they can take liberties with him… Biss went snowboarding is one example, performance levels in other games being even clearer examples.

The club sets that sentimental culture as well though. Ben Davies still being here is a clear example. Offering Bentancur a new contract would be another.

Don’t agree that Frankfurt knocking us out would hit like a ton of bricks though. I doubt anyone is really expecting us to win the tie after that Fulham performance. Not even sure Ange be he can get a good enough performance out of them to win the tie anymore.

This argument was valid until the Leicester loss imo. After yesterday this argument actually makes Ange look worse.

If we can’t get results at Fulham and don’t really look like getting results at Fulham, we aren’t going on the type of run that Newcastle had late last season.

Yeap, agreed.

Talk about "but look at the injuries" does not hold any water whatsoever.
By end of last season, we had near full availability but took total beating after total beating only managed to beat bottom 5 sides.
Start of this season we fucked up way too pathetically before injuries ever took a toll (talking about Leicester first game, Ipswich, Palace, Brighton).
Now for the third time - availability is normal (not perfect, but that should not be a target), yet we witness fuckups like Fulham, Bournemouth and AZ away.

He just is not good enough of a manager. Simple as.

Howe did have horrid time with injuries last season. But when players returned, results improved. They won 6, drew 2 and lost 2 out of their last 10 EPL games.
While we at the same time... won 4 (and those were Luton, Burnley, Sheffield - all went down + Forest that finished last season 17th so firs one not to be relegated), drew 1 and lost 5.

The mentality of our team is shit. Why would the fans back that.
Ange has promoted the fact that its ok to lose games now because we're in Europe.
As someone pointed out. Every supporter in the world would feel the exact same way as Spurs fans that day. Bar none

No idea mate. Genuinely, not a fucking clue.

I’ve given up attempting to try and rationalise how we operate as a club. Perhaps he’s a useful foil whilst a sale takes place in the background. Perhaps they really do think he’s the one to take us forward. Perhaps it’s just general incompetence and ENIC no longer give a shit. We’re just West Ham with a better stadium.

All I do know is that Daniel won’t lose a single penny.

It's unfortunate. I don't enjoy seeing a man who worked for years to get a chance at the highest level of the game in danger of losing his job. But he is so invested in the system he created he can't adjust it and move forward. The only way I could see this working out is if Spurs forced him to accept adjusting the system and brought in experienced assistants who could help him modify it. I'm not sure he would accept that, though.

Fair play to you for this Shady, love to see the introspection mate.

Honestly this place sometimes brings out the worst in people including me, living on a toxic forum trying to constantly do the one-up thing is just tedious and pretty sad.

I hate watching my team play, I hate what my club has become and hate what our fans have become as well - we have normalised dross at this football club from top to bottom.

Do we really want to see a culture where the club gets to dictate tactics to a coach?

Especially this club?

The fact that we are even discussing it tells us where we are in this experiment,

I think Ange has done positive things, changed the mindset back to attacking football, recruited and bedded in some unbelievable young players and shifted some donkeys that needed to go.

We will benefit long term from his time here but it probably needs to be without him for us to really get those benefits… he should have known himself when he said “I really hope I’m still here in 2-3 years to take advantage Lucas and Archie’s talent”.

I think they believe in the idea of Ange but don't believe in his tactics and when they make a mistake like giving the ball away for example...he's not holding them accountable because they're playing 'his way'. It actually reminds me of Kompany at Burnley, he took them down back to the Championship and the players were making silly errors were punished because they were following his instructions.

I will caveat this by the way by saying that his style would obviously work with better players which is an obvious thing to say because you can say that about any manager but this setup isn't designed to get the best out of our current players, you can't keep losing matches and expect to keep your job.

‘Ange’ Ball

We went 1-0 down in 15 home games during the 2024 calendar year, the most EVER by a Premier League team in a single year

Worst Home Winless Run Since 2008 (2024)
We went five straight home matches without a win in the Premier League. Our longest winless run at home since 2008, a year that also saw us pick up their lowest Premier League points total (52) in a calendar year

Shots Faced in a Calendar Year (2025)
In the first 11 games of 2025, we faced 167 shots on goal, averaging over 15 per game. This is more than 40 shots higher than any other Premier League club in all competitions during that period, including the relegation sides!

On course for our highest Number of losses in a Single Premier League Season with 15 currently and 19 being our worst ever (Ossie Ardiles)

Most Goals Conceded in a Calendar Year Since 2008 (2024)

Longest Run of Consecutive Premier League Defeats in 16 Years (2024/25)
We had four consecutive Premier League losses between late January and early February 2025, a streak not seen since the 2008/09 season

Most Goals Conceded in All Competitions in a Season (2024/25)

Our worst points tally at this stage of the season since 2009. 16 years

0-0 with a part time side 96 places below us in 90 minutes. A club who literally have part time footballers working in retail

We've now lost 6 games pre International break periods. Wolves, Fulham, Newcastle, Brighton, Ipswich and Fulham again

This list is missing some -

- first time in club history (! yes first time in 142 years time !) we failed to win against non-league side within normal time
- I believe that Roma game on 28.11 was first time in 10 years when we failed to win home-game in Europa League (correct me if I am wrong)

Also someone could look into our worst ever derby season in EPL.
Cause this year London derbies so far -
0:1 vs Woolwich
3:1 vs Brendford W
4:1 vs West Ham W
0:1 vs Palace
1:1 vs Fulham
3:4 vs Chelsea
1:2 vs Woolwich
2:0 vs Brendford W
0:2 vs Fulham

So far this season we have
3 wins
1 draw
5 losses

Next up is Chelsea away so given the fact we are managed by harmful idiot I can write it up 6 losses from 10 games as well...
When was last time we sucked so bad in derby games across season?
