Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We forgot what he brings when he was away for so long, he is light years ahead of all our other defenders when it comes to using the ball ... including VdV. The difference with him and without him was pretty obvious vs Fulham.

Idk. Its not like we need the money or are going to spend it. 80-100M sounds great but we have that money lying around already and aren't spending it on top players.

It'll just be another example of a player who is ready to win now and knows he can't do that at Spurs so has to leave. I'd rather see us keep him and try and match his ambitions!

If Real Madrid want you then you leave the club you play for. That’s just the way it is.

Any people who compare us to Real Madrid are completely fucking nuts.

Different stratosphere baby!!!

yeah that is true and he probably will leave.

But I don't understand fans getting excited about the prospect of him leaving for over 80m. We'll be losing a top centre back and not replacing him. 80m is pocket change for us and won't effect our own transfer targets. It'll be another player on high wages out the door who'll likely be replaced by a player on at least 100k less a week in the squad.

So yes Romero will leave and yes we will get good money for him. Great business.Brilliant business. Shrewd business. But anyone who thinks this is good for our football team is wrong. Its the same cycle and will be Kulusevski or VDV next Summer.

He is good with the ball, if a bit slow at times, though I blame that on Ange.

He is good with the head offensively.

He is decent defensively, but not elite.

Overall if he wanted to be here he probably is a better player than Danso, but it's a moot point if he doesn't or isn't sure. Need the new coach to come in asap and talk about what he wants and get as much £££ for him if he's not going to sign a new contract.

He's been abysmal this season and has mentally checked out. If we are going by this seasons performances it won't be hard replacing him.

The way a player plays/acts when things are not going well is very telling. Romero has played and acted like an absolute imbecile and we have enough of them in the squad.

I agree. I just know he's a top centre back and will probably go on to win everything at Real Madrid.

Feels shit just never being able to meet any top player's ambitions. Berbatov, Bale, Modric, Kane.. It'll always be the same. Poor Son was the only top player who never wanted to leave and look how thats ended up for him. Has won nothing and almost turned into a villain at the club now

We would send the signal that Spurs isn’t the place for top players to play … again.

He's a winner, he clocked this club some time ago.
What a crock of shit!

He’s handsomely remunerated so should deliver on the pitch for us, not bother putting in the effort because he thinks we’re below him!

We’d be higher up the table if it wasn’t for several of his pre-injury fuck ups!

Get rid if that’s his attitude, we want players that bleed for the badge.

Bang on the money.

If we were a club with brains, we would have already identified a centre half or 2, and be ready to make an early summer bid.

Then get this absolute waster out of the club.

He is vice-captain and yet performs like a novice too much of the time.

World Cup winner, where he is made to respect the jersey or he no doubt gets dropped

With us he makes mistake after mistake, then has the odd good game, or shows some passion, and people go orgasmic.

Do me a favour. SELL him.

Facts > Feelings I'm afraid

if iraola comes in he should have the say on whether he wants him gone or not. romero is a top defender, they are hard to come by.

a new manager makes a huge difference to a lot of these players!

So fair weather player then?!

Checking out from his club because he considers himself too good for us or rolling up your sleeves, dig in and help raise our level through his own performance, what would you consider the actions of a winner?!

That’s the difference between players like Kane and this joker!

Kane checked out of Spurs when he spoke to Gary Neville on the Golf Course and when Nuno was the manager in fact Modric checked out of Spurs when he spoke to Roman, Berbatov refused to play for us anymore before he went to Utd and Bale didn't return to training when he was linked with Real.

Why are we acting as if this isn't new?

Players mentally check out all the time even the best ones then eventually they get a move and perform at their level.

Kane checked out for what a couple of games. What Berbatov did doesn’t excuse Romero’s behaviour.

Kane checked out all Summer, didn't report back for training and started to focus 3 months into the season once Conte came in.

It doesn't excuse anyone's behavior, I'm just saying that Romero isn't unique in this situation, it's happened before and it will happen again.
