He has and he was our top scorer at the last World Cup.

We don’t have any better forwards who play off that left side who look to run in behind and offer a Son lite role. Which is when Kane thrives.

Not sure why people would be annoyed by the decision as it’s something that has been recognised with England for a while.

Henderson makes more sense to be upset about but we are weak for cm depth and I’m not gonna get too annoyed over our Moussa Sissoko pick, aka he’s probably good for the dressing room and offers experience.

I’m gonna give by far our most qualified coach in years a chance.

None are the same profile as Rashford. And frankly on form none of them are actually as good.

Again, Tuchel has won a CL and numerous other cups and has a brilliant cup record in general. I’m not gonna throw a wobbly over his squad raising a couple of eyebrows.

Gallagher to me is the most glaring omission and blatantly deserves a spot.

I think Tuchel has always been a mostly risk averse, conservative manager. Certainly watching him at Chelsea he was that. So in this respect smiliar to Southgate. However he is light years ahead of Southgate tactically so I can put up with the style of football his picks suggest to me.

I mean ideally it would Klopp and his type of picks and style but at international level the managers are mostly shit so Tuchel should give us an advantage.

The only thing I am sad is that on form and ability players like Braithwaite, Spence, Gallagher and Wharton should probably be in but if Tuchel is picking based on his system then you can understand it.

Think it's tough for Klopp style to win a big tournament tbh. No way you can keep that intensity with that many games at the end of the month and in the summer.

Got no issue at all with Tuchel tactically. He's man who knows how to win a major trophy and has the charisma to keep the biggest characters on board. But he doesn't need Henderson and Reece James to play his style. Gallagher would be perfect for tournament football and he's playing with Cholo ffs so he will know his way around all the tactical adjustments Tuchel will need.

Henderson can''t get a game for Ajax and James is broken. Not a chance in hell you could rely on him for a tournament. Just makes me think Tuchel is out of touch.

I can hear your point on style of player tbh. It's just a shit message to any player with ambitions to play for England. Rashford has been checked out of professional football for years now and a few weeks of OK form for Villa gets him back in.

Gallagher, Gibbs-White are the two biggest ones but there is plenty tbh.

Tuchel's squad selection is horrible, honestly so disapointing.

To be fair Tuchel isn’t a progressive type of manager, as he is German a lot of people confused him with Klopp I think. He is very much a German Jose or at best German Conte, certainly if you watched his Chelsea side. So I am not surprised by it. He won’t be a huge departure from Southgate maybe in style but should at least be a massive tactical upgrade and his remit will simply be to win in whatever way.

Therrs literally 0 need for Jordan Henderson no matter the context, if you want to do the pragmatic thing there's so many players you can pick over him.

Wharton would have been picked had he not recently come back from injury. I don't think Gallagher started under Tuchel for Chelsea all that much so isn't surprising that he missed out. Branthwaite should be in the squad, and will be once he leaves Everton for a bigger club in the summer.

There's 7 players missing through injury that are almost all in with a shout of starting. Shaw, Stones and Saka would be guarantees.

Why? The only really surprising ones are Henderson and Quensah. Not to mention Stones, Shaw, Hall, Mainoo, Saka, Palmer and Watkins are all injured.

Rashford, Walker, Burn, Jones ,James isn't even fully fit either, it's just pointless when you could have picked Spence, Wharton, Bynoe Gittens, Gallagher...MGW only got in because Palmer dropped out.

Have a look at the u21s, so much talent he could have picked from there.

He was always going to pick James and Rashford. He knows the former really well and is a fan of the latter. As for Walker, it's doubtful he would have got in had Trent been fit. Jones is debatable but he did well in his last couple of England games, and wouldn't have been selected had Mainoo been available.

Personally I think a few players need to play under 21 football first. With France and Portugal to play in the coming days it's going to be a good test for them. Arguably harder games than playing Albania and Latvia with the seniors!

Ultimately Tuchel's second squad selection I'm sure will look vastly different to this one.

The last time you posed some dumb hypothetical like this was when you were questioning if we’d make it out of the Euros groups and then we got to the final.

The answer is yes, obviously we would beat Sweden.

The only team we beat in that tournament better than Sweden was The Netherlands and this squad isn’t as good as the one Southgate took to the Euros.

Isak, Gyokeres, Kulusevski, Bergvall, Elanga, Larsson…

I think that squad can beat the Dutch. It’s a bit of a golden generation right now.
