We used to attract the best players. The only reason we don't any more is Daniel Levy and ENIC
Maybe people don’t think they are wrong? I’m interested in other opinions, as in this case, I believed Levy when he said that the new stadium would lead us into a new era of success. Others didn’t believe that. What did they see that I didn’t? I’m interested to know.
I still believe Levy works like a bastard flor us. I still believe he wants the football team to be a trophy winning success. Others on here say he’s only interested in concerts and doesn’t prioritise for the football team. What are they seeing that I’m not? I’d like to know.
But, asking that on here, in the present circumstance of our on field performances is basically like standing at the end of a corridor, legs apart and asking everyone to take a nice long run up to hoofing me in the balls. I can’t be arsed. And the huge number of posts every day having pops at fans of the same fucking club we all support, beggars belief. There’s some Spurs fans being treated worse on here than Gooner interlopers. Place has become a fucking shitshow of keyboard cunts calling out fellow fans in a manner they’d never dare do in person. And decent fans and debaters, like yourself, aren’t helping matters by concentrating on this area either.

Yes we probably would have been. But so would clubs and rivals of similar size to us like Woolwich and Chelsea.
Newcastle are a smaller club with a locally concentrated fanbase who hadn't won a domestic trophy in most of their fans lifetime so the exaggerated euphoria is completely understandable

I believe that too. But I also believe he doesn't want it bad enough to ever take a risk. I also believe being too successful isn't good for turnover as you have to spend to maintain it.
I also think at first he didn't prioritise the non-football events, but now he's seen how bankable the money is, he is pivoting towards that.
His latest comment where he said we had "use non football income to subsidise the football" is telling.
We were all led to believe that was the point of the non-football events, but now it seems like he's begrudging using it.
Yes. That is correct. That is what Chelsea's owners did. To put their money into the club they sold off the hotel and women's team to another group company. However Levy and ENIC would never put their cash in......they could always asset strip the club like this instead of course.
I can only speak for myself, but for me the biggest sign that Levy is not driven by ambition for on field success is the following .

The latest example the selling Kane situation . I don’t disagree with selling Kane , however I massively disagree with not replacing him for 12 months . This was just Berbatov 2.0 but without Fraser Campbell. He made the sales with total negligence on the replacement side , one can argue Berba forced his hand but he is too well rewarded to be unaware that Berbatov was gone mentally. You can’t be the highest paid CEO and keep fucking these things up .

The replacements for Kane were Brennan and Richarlison.
Levy also sacks managers before selling off the players that did well under those managers.
Jol, Redknapp and Poch all got this treatment.

They've had lots of people mocking them, and for sure we'd get that worse, but I have also seen a lot of sensible fans happy for them that they finally won something after so long. I suspect those making fun of them have probably never set foot inside one of the stadiums of the teams that they purport to support.
Levy admitting that if it werent for the extra revenue streams generated by the stadium we would be at a loss was a great admission that he has been an utterly disastrous owner presiding over a poorly performing football team over the accounting year. He basically admits he has been shit!

Why did we build this stadium again?
I seem to recall levy telling us all 10 years ago that we needed the new stadium to compete with the other top teams. White hart lane was not fit for purpose and the additional revenue the new stadium would generate would ensure we attracted the best players.

I’m not going to repeatKosher Kid ’s post, as it says what I think and a lot of posters think.
The biggest revenue stream is surely the football club and its success, right? Winning the League or Champions League (fanciful as that sounds) would surely make more money?
I’m a fan of Tottenham Hotspur. For me, winning is everything.
It seems as if our revenue football wise has dropped while our non footballing side has grown , we played a lot less games less season but the difference from the previous seasons revenue is minimal. Mediocrity is sustainable .
