Shameless.Ange Postecoglou on today’s performance:
“In general, I thought we were well in the game, and controlled it really well, but we just kept conceding really poor goals.”
1st leg would have been a win if we had a new manager for that. I'm hate it we still stick with him.
This is the words of someone who knows he's been given the chop but has to sugarcoat things until it happens
Reminds me of Ten Hag actually, when he was constantly gaslighting saying that Utd were controlling matches and were playing well when it was the total opposite.
Well he's right in the context of this match, those were indeed shocking individual errors on players' part. Not much a manager can do.
He doesn't deserve sympathy though, as he was getting away with stuff regularly in previous matches. Opponents were missing sitters, Vicario was saving everything coming to his way, defenders were making vital clearances several times over the course of matches and so on.
It's just the case of his luck running out.
disagree. the mistakes from defenders and the keeper are his doing. when you insist on getting donkeys trying to play out, guess what...they are going to make mistakes. they are also going to have their confidence battered and guess what that does...Well he's right in the context of this match, those were indeed shocking individual errors on players' part. Not much a manager can do.
i dont know any neutrals that thinks our games are a good watch. they watch other games if theres options. i thought that was weird cos if i was a neutral id want to see him falling out with the fans again. but the actual football is school playground stuff, if youre a fan of the game why would you wanna watch that?

We've had shit seasons before.. But this season has been like being in the Twilight Zone.
We get embarrassed every week. The clubs rotting before our eyes.. To which mine and other peoples assumption is, well something surely has to be done now. We are at emergency levels, time to act immediately etc.... And yet the posture from a lot of fans and seemingly the club has been.. "No point doing it before the Man Utd League Cup game".. "No point doing it before the Liverpool semi final second leg".. "No point doing to before we play Villa in the cup in 3 days".. And now it's "No point doing it before we go out meekly of yet another cup competition against Frankfurt". Apathy, laziness and some bizarre sense of politeness and manners has fucked us into irrelevancy.
Which is why it all makes no sense that he’s still here. The only logical option is financial - it’s more to sack him now than if he can’t qualify for Europe, and that’s so fucking small time over what is likely to be a couple of million, which was negated by out league position.Bang on. I actually can't believe what I've seen this season. As much as we've had shit seasons before, (none this bad), but we've been shit before. But the thing to always rely on has been, Levy will sack an underperforming manager.
Which makes it all the more bizarre that the club has decided to just keep him in the job this long. He should have been gone last summer, than October, then November, then before Xmas, then the Jan window, then Feb, March etc yet he's survived shit result after shit result, yet total paralysis from the board.
The fans are completely distraught, results are the worst in decades, yet Ange is still in a job. What the fuck is going on?
And most disgusting thing of all, is we've had managers like Jose, Conte etc who we could all understand if they were given this long, because they have elite reputations. Yet Ange, the fat cunt who has only ever won in Scotland and Japan, is the one Levy decides to give all the time in the world too.
Levy can't help but make diabolical decision after diabolical decision.
Why doesnt one of these journos ask " by what measure were you controlling the match " ? Possession - as we consistently prove - matters not a jot if you cant defend and have no cutting edge - empty words. This is the words of someone who knows he's been given the chop but has to sugarcoat things until it happens
