Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Agreed, he does not provide environment for managers to work miracles and win big titles.

However he has been here since 2001 (!).

And yet we are looking at the worst league finish across that 24 year period.
Benchmark is not winning the league, but if form has been shit for 60 (!!) games already then I feel this is pretty telling sample.
It includes times when lot of players are injured, but also lot of time when they are not.
It includes times when we had massive amount of games in short period to play but also lot of times when there was just 1 competition to be in.
It includes two seasons when he had full pre-season with the side and had chance to make adjustments to squad (like to buy THREE new full-international side CBs, 3rd top scorer of division from previous year, plus number of really promising young talents).

And yet we are here. All the previous managers have done lot more with lot less, let's be honest.
Bingo.

I've said it before, but for all of Levy's obvious flaws. He does seem willing to invest enough for us to be in or around European places at the very least. Going all the way back to Jol that has been the average and thus what we should reasonably expect.

That Levy is by all accounts unwilling to push us beyond that is a totally separate issue to Ange having us sitting in 15th.

Expecting players, who by the definition of their trade jump around from club to club throughout their career to only have one club that they root for is also a bit harsh.

Fans yes, we have one club that we stick with through thick and thin. But a player is bound to build affinity for all clubs that they play for so it really isn't that weird if Crouchy has some love for both us and Liverpool.

100%.

I’ve never played football as a professional for one club but I still have a soft spot for about 7 at the last count.
Collecting just over one a decade.

If I live till I’m 100 I might get to 15!

He wants a pay off like Conte did. Probably just as shocked as we are that he hasn't got it yet.
Pretty much every manager since the turn of the century has dug in and waited for the sack.
There's nothing unique about it. These "men" will take a club down before they resign and walk away from a payout.
I would say chairmen need to be wiser to this and have clauses in there stating the team needs to maintain a certain level for the coach to get sacked and paid out.
But then I'd bet most coaches would walk out of the interview laughing.

Football is fucked.

Football fans are very binary.
A lot of fans seem to think we should either be winning the title or finishing in the bottom 6.
"whats the point sacking Ange, the next manager won't win anything either"

Sure. But I'd rather be top 6 and actually see a home win for my £1250 a year than bottom 6 and be totally uninterested in my team.

You don't even support Spurs. I think you're by far the strangest contributor here. I can not imagine not watching games, but having so much say on the subject. There's a really active Buffy the Vampire slayer sub Reddit you should dive in.... 😆

Too fucking right I am sunshine.

So what’s your username on there?
Are you a Buffy fan? Or do you like the other one?

No smoke without fire.
But all the soundbites are confirming my belief now, that he's here until the end of the season regardless of Thursday.
I do not understand why. I still do not understand why he is still here, I do not understand why it looks like Levy is asleep at the wheel. The only reason I can think he is still here is that these investor negotiations are at a point that the management job as a sacrificial pawn which Levy wanted to offer them. That is why we have been neutral on a board side this season when it comes to the decision making. Then the interested parties do not want to pull the trigger because of form.

That is why we seem to be in a holding pattern and no decision are being made.

They have high standards man they insist you watch the show to contribute. I've seen all 300 episodes. In the same way I watch Tottenham and go to the games before I pontificate. Sorry I didn't mean to get your hopes up. My usernames Theyokofactor.

Has there ever been a Spurs manager who was 0-1-3 vs. fucking Wolves?!?!

:ange-facepalm2:
strangely enough they doubled us 1-0 Harry's season when we got 4th and CL, and they went down. I was at both, these things do happen. But yes with this manager its happengin to all those types of teams all the feckin time

Silva at FFC has our number, I expect Palace and Brighton to double us or at least draw. AFCB mullered us each time. one point off Leics.

Still morons out there on twatter saying its individual errors (which it may be but begs the question why which they refuse to engage with)
