It always amuses me when some have a pop at Levy for holding concerts, NFL and boxing, etc in the stadium. as if these things has never happened before Levy/ENIC.

There's loads of reason to have a pop at Levy about, using the stadium for boxing, NFL, concerts.. isn't one of them IMO
I couldn't care less if he used the stadium for other events 7 days a week if he started prioritising the football team that facilitated everything that happens there.

Sitting 5th from bottom, signing a bunch of teenagers and butchering the wage bill to levels unseen anywhere else in Europe while simultaneously paying themselves the highest boardroom salaries in football suggests anything but.

Bunch of parasites feeding off our football club.

You can’t put a pound note figure on marketing or branding ROI. It’s always a punt. An argument I’m forever having, due to running a branding and marketing agency.

Two things are possible here i’d suggest:

1 - Levy had a figure in mind for the naming rights and wouldn’t move from it.

2 - He’s keeping the rights open for a prospective buyer to place their own name on the stadium.

I don’t think he’s turned down good money to improve brand awareness. He, like you, is a numbers guy. He’s not going to be talked into brand awareness strategies like this.

It will be 1. He out prices everyone on anything.

Signing a bunch of teenagers is not a problem in itself particularly as Bergvale & Gray look good. It is not buying top players to compliment them at the same time that is the problem. The top players probably would not come to the team 5th from bottom but last summer we were 5th from top and more attractive.

Exactly.

And we all know that if any of these teenagers excel it's only a matter of time until they're angling for a move to a club with more ambition to win and more willingness to pay the wages they can command.

ENIC cash in, and the cycle starts again
