Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

yeah , but that isn't a very high bar to beat , not sure myself that Bentancur is the future for us .

Our CM's are Bentancur (age 27), Bissouma (age 28), Sarr (Age 22) , Bergvall (Age 19) and Gray (Age 19) of whom the first 2 are by far the most experienced, so its unlikely we want to lose both in same transfer window.

Bissouma is the most likely to leave (possibly replaced by 24 year old Cardoso), so Bentancur is likely to stay for another season or two by which time Bergvall is likely to be a top player, and Bentancur can move on .

Is he bollocks. Bissouma might suffer from a lack of concentration but he’s a much better footballer.
I don't rate either of them, but this is a pointless distinction. If you're not switched on for most of your footy matches, who gives a fuck how talented you are. We've already been scorched by that mentality by numerous players over the last decade.

Bentancur in his short run of good form pre-injury showed more than Biss has in a Spurs shirt.

Oh no........ Werner, Reggie, Forster & Whiteman are out of contract!!!!!!!!

Danso is essentially a Spurs player already so wdf?

You drama queen.
And Davies...

Well, it actually does represent an issue. Those players will be leaving without an incoming transfer free. So that leaves us needing to BUY or LOAN a winger and 2 Full backs at a minimum. It also leaves us without 2 homegrown players.

Per our financial results, we will unlikely have a positive NET spend this window, so will need to raise funds to get these replacements, 2 of which will need to be home grown (extra $$$). Given that Spence is the only 'backup' full back in the squad, we cannot get away with just filling the spot with a kid or shite. It needs to be quality.

And Calvert Lewin

I know not all want him back, but Poch would have a field day with Bergvall, Sarr and Gray.

There were times last night when PSG were trying to play out in a very similar pattern to how we do/used to and Woolwich thought they had them hemmed in near the sidelines and they’d play a ball inside to Vitinha or Neves under insanely heavy pressure and they’d turn on a dime and evade the pressure and the Woolwich players were left scratching their heads.

That’s the difference between playing out at a high level, whereby good teams can choke us or force us into areas they want us to go. Even then, PSG still got rid of it when they had to. So mature for a young side too, and that all comes from a coach who’s seen it all in European football.

I’m not sure what my point is, but we could really do with another midfielder who can dance out of pressure to go with Lucas.

Amazing a lot of our fans didn’t want Enrique that summer when he was linked. I never got it why so many were against him coming in.

If Bergvall becomes a top player it won't be Bentancur moving on. :levylol:
