Match West Ham (A) - 4th May, 2pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The laws of the game don’t require intent.

They absolutely do if you're talking violent conduct, which is what I assume you'd be getting him for.

"In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."

“ Serious foul play is punishable by red card.

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

Considerations

-Speed
-Intensity
-Force
-Degree of control
-Point and extent of contact (full/limited)”

No mention of intent in the considerations.

Even if it wasn’t a punch, it was a reckless challenge with a raised fist and excessive movement of his arm.

I haven't seen the incident and it will be interesting to see if MOTD pick it up and analyse it to death (bet your bottom dollar that if Cuti was involved, they would do).

archie gray 40m on a player that as no position ... twats
Stupid post, he's playing in a position that he doesn't excel in but puts in a reasonable level of performance - and you condemn him?
The only position he hasn't played is the one he's good at.
But don't worry, donkeys like you put in a 500 page thread slagging Harry Winks for being a shit DM, despite the fact that it was never the position he was good in.

It wasn't a challenge ffs, that entire rule is based around dangerous challenges, not someone throwing an elbow or a fist etc, that entirely falls under the violent conduct sphere.

The referee ruled it was accidental, therefore not violent conduct. It doesn't then become a dangerous challenge. It's the same when somebody catches a stray elbow to the eye.

It was a challenge. Biss was winning the ball when Bowen punched him.

Fat fucker would float!
But can he fly?

If Bowen played for Woolwich he would be rated like Saka. He is an outstanding player in a really shit team.
There's a reason he plays for England - always said he's a good player shame about the team he plays for.

Woolwich fans gass up every player because don't forget - every player is 'world class', their defence is 'world class' blah blah

That's not how that works. Punching somebody is not an attempt to win a football, it's not a tackle.

Again, that rule almost exclusively refers to dangerous tackles. Which don't require intent, just the element of recklessness. Nobody challenges for a ball by punching somebody.
Was still funny to watch, it didn't hit hard but the whole West Ham punch-up meme comes to mind...

he also sanctioned 50m on johnshit

Johnson is our top goalscorer with 11 (i think 17 in all competitions).

No other Spurs play has broken into double figures.

As many faults as he may have, where does the rest of our strikers stand?

He actually cost 47 mil, some 120 odd mil less than Solanke and Richarlison combined who have contributed 12 PL goals between them.

I think we have far more player issues than Johnson, who offers very little aside from the obvious.

I think you can tell when he has the ball if he has what we need or is worth that money. Not seen a y real skill or ability to beat a man. None of what you stated should impact his ability when he has the ball. Anyways why we making excuses for a young foreign player potentially costing £60M yet we don’t give Moore the same leeway.

"potentially costing £60M"

I would be very surprised if we paid more than 40 mil for him. I don't know where you got 60mil from.

He's just nineteen, and I don't know of any player who is the finished article at that age.

Kid needs time to settle in, and certainly to settle in under a new manager.
