Match The Bodø Affair - Part Two: Bodø/Glimt of Nordland vs The Mighty Tottenham - 2000hrs 8th May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 2

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I do worry we have nobody who can actually keep the ball. However to put us out they have to score 3 goals. I know we are shit but I just cant see them overturning that. We'd have to be unbelievably useless, which I know we are more than capable of, but I think we will be fine and go through. I'm never positive usually but even though it will be a painful match, I think we will be fine.
Kind of how I feel... my head says surely we can't fuck this up... my eyes will say something completely different come 8:30pm on Thursday... second goal is key... they will undoubtedly score first but if we can get the second it's game over... if they get it, it's still game over.

Vicario to pass it to their striker in the first 5 minutes, 1-0. Vicario again 10 minutes later plays hospital pass to Udogie who already had 2 men bearing down on him before the pass was made, he loses it. They cross and score, now 2-0.
They have a very close offside goal disallowed, they hit the post a few times, vicario pulls off a couple worldies, finally Johnson scores in ET and we hang on for final whistle. 3-4 agg

That's the kinda bullshit i'm expecting
I reckon that's exactly how it will play out.

I think he has been average. No worse but certainly no better.

Given how many games we have lost, when Postecoglou talks about how Solanke has to play in the 'system' I think mate, just do your best to score goals, because whatever so called system Postecoglou is talking about is lost on me.

Everyone of our players needs to know what awaits them if we lose by no more than 1 goal. The approach of course, should be to believe we will win the game. No conceivable reason for that not to be the case
Exactly Average - we didn't pay £60ms+ for an average player that just had a purple patch with another team innit.

I do try not to over criticise our players because as I've said it before, I don't know if it's them, Ange, the System, the setup or the coaching...but what I do know is Solanke really hasn't been delivering what we all thought he would've.

I just hope he steps up & gives us some goals :)

I thought, and stated so at the time, that those simplyy equating a transfer size or Solanke's one good season, were jumping the gun. I never saw this player who was going to be prolific

Solanke is decent but that's not really what we need.

I'd hope so, I really like Dom he tries hard for us and is always pressing and working. But I'd argue even richarlison does the same and probably has a better return for G/A in minutes. We just really were spoiled with Kane for years in terms of a striker who gets a great return

Nobody we can sign in our wage bracket could replace Kane tbh. Even the top wage paying clubs can’t find a Kane.

I agree , I dont want to seem negative but just don't think Dom and Richie are the answer for us currently. They need to turn these performances into goals , I really still rate Richie always looks great when on pitch. But seems under Ange we dont look to use our no 9s or aim to get ball into them

Richarlison is the more likely to score us goals. It's not a debate.

If both play on Thursday, whether that is starter or substitute,if they score 2 goals between them we go through.

Out of interest have both Richarlison and Solanke scored in the same game for us as yet?

I cant seem to think of a time both have , can only think of a handful of time theyve both been on pitch for us together. Thursday we score first we're through I think we need to go all out

Losing Madders is massive for us but not just for this but the final if we get there. We only play well when he plays no matter what people think of him. He is our only creative player. We’ll get away with it against Bodo but whoever it is in the final we will struggle because Deki will plod about bashing into people giving fouls away. Add in Bergvall missing and we have a team that constantly give the ball away and nobody who can get on the other side of the opposition midfield with either a pass or driving by someone.
My confidence has taken a massive hit now.
We all know we will line up in the final with Sarr,Johnson and Deki all starting. That straight away scares the shit out of me.

I think the approach that Podtecoglou adopts is going to be both interesting but also crucial.

We beat them by 3 at our place (granted they, like us in the return)in the absence of key players, but it was by 2 and could/should have been by 4 if not 5.

I think we play to our strength, and that is to attack the spaces they will have to leave in pursuit of the 2 goals.

Start quickly, get 3-up, and hold for 10/15 minutes, and it piles pressure and mistakes on them.

It's so easy on a mobile phone.

Very understandable post & I cannot argue against what you've posted.

Thing is Bodo can’t afford to sit back and we don’t know how to sit back (Frankfurt aside) the best thing we can do is forget the aggregate score and just go for it out at their place - I always fancy us to score and I think that will be enough for this tie - in going 3-2 Bodo and therefore 5-4 to us on Aggregate
