Match The Bodø Affair - Part Two: Bodø/Glimt of Nordland vs The Mighty Tottenham - 2000hrs 8th May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 2

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Looked like the player I thought we’d bought to an extent. Thought he was going to be the complete midfielder/8. It is in there, needs to get some confidence back.
He's never been a complete mmidfielder.

think that's the problem.

We've never used him as he was used at B'ton.

He loves to drive forward and also get in amongst the goals.

Trying to use him as a holder has been the issue, really.

Of course we'd make a better couple, shame that Stevie didn't realise that 55 years ago!! I thought he had moved to Wiltshire somewhere, having lived in Exeter for some time.

"Honest your Honour - I'm not a stalker!!"
I’ve seen him 3 times in the last few years along a similar stretch of the river which is close to a well know pub in Exeter (won’t say which in case it breaches your restraining order) :perryman:think my uncle is a similar age to you who got me into spurs and Stevie P was his favourite player. I follow Exeter as my second team, which he was Director of football I think for a while. Left under a slight cloud with Tisdale.

I'm doing the stadium tour with him the Monday before the final, so it'll be interesting to hear his take.

Weve needed this for such a long time. Graham Roberts was like this for us. Strong mentality.

Right I'm saying it. I'm drunk and I'm happy but don't put Roberts who would play on a broken leg in the same sentence as this bloke. He's saying all the right things now and weirdly he doing them..when? When there's no place else to go.

Suddenly the last three games he's become an arch pragmatist. WHERE was this when we could have saved the league season? Beating after beating he was full bloody Jihadi zero reason, one mad excuse after another watching the same thing fail over and over, record numbers of defeats. Shameful London derbies.

My Mrs said at one point "This man has sabotaged himself. He doesn't even know why but I think he has imposter syndrome" I think she was right because suddenly he sees the value in running down the clock, dropping back a bit, grinding out a result. Simply refusing to lose if you can not win. It's in sane he's insane. It was all so fucking preventable.

But this is what makes it all so fucking annoying!!! Just play proper fucking football and we win games. It’s what we’ve all moaned about for so long. Proper tactics not stupid nonsense.
Would you like to watch that kind of football in all games, or try to perform like the famous first 10 regardless of the players on the pitch?
I think that Ange is working on the latter and reverts to conventional coaching only when absolutely necessary.

Pretty much a complete midfielder.. an 8 who can do almost everything well? Finishing maybe not his strong point but can physically dominate and surprisingly agile, looks after the ball and can shift it quickly in possession. Think we need an anchor midfielder who can sit and act as the 3rd cb when needed, which in turn releases the other midfielder and full backs more.

This isn’t helpful - what the fuck am i meant to think. It’s like when I found out Craig Charles was a crack addict
He's a what?

He was DOF with Exeter after they’d almost gone under (dodgy owners) and were stuck in the conference for a few dark years. Managed to get up to L1 which is their ceiling really.

A lot of the successful period was with manager Paul Tisdale who was an ex pro managing bath university team when he came to Exeter.

His tenure with Exeter is worth a read, he’s held in a lot higher regard than Tisdale down here😊 would love to hear some stories he has with his time in Devon, especially when we were in the conference during the dark days! Ask him about Martin rice and Richard Logan’s off field antics😅

Players like Ethan ampadu and Ollie Watkins have come through city’s academy which SP would have been part of. He’s made Exeter a stable lower half L1 team which is something to be proud of, compared to the mess he inherited.

Could also mention how it was possible I didn’t get an academy place back in the day:udogiearms:
