He has done that role before. I actually think he's waisted out wide. Would be a real problem for them playing off Solanke and roaming. Would need Solanke to drop deep too and help Son with the workload but I actually think thats our best solution.Didn't you literally say try Son there
why can't we? we have lost nearly every game where a few of our first teamers have been injured with no fight shown in any of the games.
"we need to make our 433 formation work" ...what?? we have tried to make it work all season with disastrous results especially when we have injuries.
I don't want to see another surrender job. United will fucking dismantle us if we insist on 4-2-3-1 with the trio of midfielders out.

I don't get what your even saying? if you're saying we should stick with a 4-3-3 formation then how can Son play centrally??
He'd be playing as a 9 off Solanke, not a no10 then and even then we'd still lack creativity - Son's peripheral vision and ability to play with his back to goal is horrible
but he's not even saying that....he literally said we should not be switching formations the post before. Then he says he would love if Son play centrally in a 4-3-3? what?
I'd rather see us use the same formation that got us to the final....

I think we have 2 choices. I don't buy into a dramatic formation change for the first time in a final.
Option A) 4-3-3 with Sarr replacing Kulusevski is the obvious change. We'd be very pragmatic but would serioualy lack creativity. It is a final though and maybe this team can win ugly and get us over the line.
Option B) 4-2-3-1 with one of Son/Odobert/Moore playing in the 10. This would be the same formation that we used to win both semi finals, however we had Madders and Deki playing in the 10 in them games. Now we have no 10. For me the best solution to the 10 would be Son. He lacks creativity but I think him behind Solanke works. Wingers would need to stay wide so I'd almost be tempted to start Tel and Odobert in this scenario as they are proper wingers unlike Richarlison and Johnson who are more wide forwards. I've actually gone off this idea after thinking more about it as I think Johnson deserves to start the final. We'd be changing too much just to accommodate Son in the 10. Odobert or Moore in the 10 is just a total gamble! Do we really need to gamble like that? Option A will have us much better setup out of possession.
All in all, option A probably makes the most sense. Just play pragmatic and try and win the final ugly.

I was listening on the radio and I thought they mentioned it at one point. It was after 11am here so I was likely drunk
I think maybe we are looking at this from the wrong side. Remember Bentancur's performance at Old Trafford last season when he almost played as the 10 with Hojbjerg and Skipp behind him? The 2-2 draw. He was sensational that day and basically played the furthest forward of our midfielders.
Could we maybe use Bentancur as the 10 and have Sarr and Bissouma sitting behind in that 4-2-3-1 formation?

I've changed my mind on that. Quickly went off the idea once I broke it down.
You'd need to play Odobert and Tel as your wingers in order to accomodate Son in the 10. It would turn into a 442 very often if Son is running in behind your striker so you would need proper wingers.
