Spence has proven he can cover/ rotate at left back for a start. Also David is not purely a centre forward, he is better playing just off the centre forward ie Vlahovic or Solanke. He also plays coming off the right. It’s not a case of being a bench player, it’s a squad these days. Look at City yesterday, Foden, Gundogan , Grealish all on the bench.

Spence has proven he's a good inverted LB but rather have a proven LB.
I know that David can play on the wings but that's not his main position and on the left Spurs already have good cover.
Spurs will have to change their system and play 2 upfronts then - something very few head-coaches do now a days.
Even though it's more of a squad game now a days, a head-coach will normally prefer one player over other in important games. Not every player like that....
And you cannot compare the situation of a bench player at Man City with Spurs: they are 2-3 times more and compete in the CL every year.

Not sure the 'free transfer' label is quite right - rumoured he wants a €15 million signing on fee and his agent wants a €10 million commission, lets call it £20m in round numbers for both.

Salary demands rumoured to be £7.5m or a little under £150k pw are probably par for the course though.

I think he can play centre forward or off either wing and as a 2nd striker - so his versatility will be an attractive asset.

Assuming Werner and Tel are off that leaves us with :

Centre forward - Solanke (and youngster Scarlett)
Left wing - Son (I think he will only play half the games due to age), Moore (will play maybe a third of games) plus Odobert (will play a third of games at LW, same on right)
Right Wing - Johnson plus Odobert (a third of games RW and similar LW)

So David would suit us well. Probably want another winger as well

My biggest worry is that the team now see losing as OK , I want the gaffer smashing up the changing rooms even if we throw away a lead and draw , 21 PL losses is absolutely shocking and the thing that worries me the most is as fans if we have become numb to the losses what’s that doing to the players?

15 PL apps (9 starts), 54mins avg gametime, 1 goal (vs Spam), 0 assist, 16% accuracy on crosses, 75% accuracy re passes in oppo half, 40% successful dribbles, loses possession 8 times (out of 26 touches)...

Excuse me Master Richy, what a friggin stud. Should've paid 300mil & signed him to a lifetime deal.

Guarantee if we did ask Bergvall he’d say he wasn’t bullied.

I’d put money down that he’d be offended by the idea that he was soft enough to feel “bullied” by anything Vic has said to him in games this season.
