You know, he was a disaster appointment a bit for us, and his football was turgid, and he's essentially forever a Chelsea legend despite his association with us, also didn't really want him when he came in, but I have a lot of respect for Mourinho. Has a world class ability to cut through bullshit, the fact the most heavily touted rumour is that he was sacked over prioritising the league cup final with his league game team selection in the match prior and told Levy (who wanted to prioritise the league and CL revenue) "this is why you never win things" says he was more in tune with what the fans of the club wanted than the ownership at the time. Again, his style was never a match made in heaven for Spurs but he's never dragged us since in the media and is very respectful considering how much Levy fucked his chances of continuing to win a cup at every club he's managed and the legacy that goes along with that.
I think I'd say the same for Conte. In the thread started after the Southampton game asking when he would be sacked I said "still in charge for Everton", and I honestly believed in that moment he was absolutely right about everything he said in the press conference and nothing would improve by getting rid. The main issue is I think with English being his 2nd language it was too open ended as a wide-reaching attack on the club in general, rather than a targeted calling out of the ownership of the club as intended (if you go back and listen again he completely rakes Levy over the coals but really doesn't do the club much of a disservice).
Anyhow with that out of the way I'm on the sauce early in forlorn hope of some kind of result, the fans of this club fucking well deserve it. COYS
