2. Do we live rent free in most media commentators heads

No, Brentford can finish above them. The following is from the Guardian:

He's the troll's troll and has been hugely successful at winding up those who put their emotions before their intellect.
Over the years I've seen a pattern to what he does on TS. Get an overly emotional and none too bright caller on, he'll double down on the contention to stir them up even more. Get someone on who doesn't fall for that, he'll end that call very quickly.
Unfortunately, it seems that the masses do find this extremely entertaining, hence his success.
Last 3 days havent seen a gooner shirt anywhere. They're gutted. Its like the 8th wonder of the world.
At my kids football tournament in Surrey right now and there was a gooner adult in full training kit, so I went and stood in front of him wearing my spurs cap. He soon scuttled off when he noticed!
These are my two guesses:
1) They were both won at home
2) The UEFA Cup struggled to achieve prestige in its formative years. It was perceived as a lesser competition for teams that weren't good enough to win the league or the FA Cup - not too different from the way that the Conference League is treated now.
