Match We can be heroes part two Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester united UEFA Cup final. Bilbao 21st May

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

These are my two guesses:

1) They were both won at home
2) The UEFA Cup struggled to achieve prestige in its formative years. It was perceived as a lesser competition for teams that weren't good enough to win the league or the FA Cup - not too different from the way that the Conference League is treated now.
Definitely makes sense. In particular for our first one since it was literally the inaugural UEFA cup.

The Conference has benefited from the modern media landscape giving it more room to get hyped, and it breaking a Roma trophy drought in its first season. But even then it still has to build up some prestige over time.

It’s just like a parade through Moscow
if you ask me .

SAF’s body will end up being embalmed and placed in a specially

He’s F-ckng DRIVING one of the buses with Milesy , Mabbs and Micky H. following up in the rear .

Geting them HGV-trained may seem expensive but it will pay off after 6 Victory parades under Ange .

Fail to prepare ; prepare to lose money . Durrrr
Why is the old soak still hanging round Utd ?

Another thought that comes to mind is the potential for violence. The 70s and 80s was the era of football hooliganism and there may have been concerns about keeping the crowd under control. If you've ever watched the 1st leg of the 84 final in Belgium, you'll see that there are stretchers going up and down carrying people off all through the match.

That woman on the left in the Blue coat is my Nan. Just sent the photo to my Dad and he's confirmed it.

Wow!

I remember my dad telling me he was at that parade as it was what got him into supporting Spurs. Typical he missed the double year!

My nan & grandad lived on De Quincey Road just to the north of the ground. They moved there from near Highbury just before my dad was born so we were bloody lucky. Could have grown up supporting the other side!

I’ve made sure my kids will continue to grow up supporting us and I took them last night. Got to keep passing it on!

I brought my kids up as Spurs. Unfortunately, or you could say fortunately considering the pain we've ensured over the past 2 decades, neither are really into Football. However, they know how important this club is to me, so they were absolutely stoked when we won on Wednesday, more for the joy it gave their Dad than anything else.

I'm the same where my Dad is concerned. As much as I loved the feeling of the win from my own perspective, I was far happier that he got to see us lift another major honour before he pops his clogs.

Not long ago went into Guildford, there was a guy, totally blasted and looked like he's been sleeping in hedges for the last 48 hours, standing on the high street shouting "Yid armeee" and " champeee-own- ez" on repeat.

He's going to be in a world of pain if he lets himself sober up
