Match We can be heroes part two Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester united UEFA Cup final. Bilbao 21st May

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This was a great fucking trophy to win. 15 games (nearly half a PL league season) Third best Trophy available after PL, CL and the third hardest to win.

True....the writing is barely legible though if you could repost please.

I was at the game, only got back late last night via Bordeaux and Paris (trains) after driving from Bilbao.

I fancied us for a whole number of reasons, aside from the footballing ones (we are a slightly better poor team than them) but as a club and fanbase it definitely meant more and that was reflected in the noises from both managers leading into this and also reflected in Bilbao generally and at the ground from both sets of fans. As an aside some of the United fans were very aggressive, arrogant and ignorant and any trouble or verbals I saw was initiated by them.

We won the game (and the 2 previously) playing to a large extent Jose ball which is never a nice watch but I get why Ange did it and I'm glad he did because we weren't winning shit any other way. As you've said previously, this isn't a strong playing squad and without Mad and to a lesser extent Lucas we were pretty devoid of creativity.

If Angeball is gonna work we need better players though and so will any other manager wanting to play a possession based passing game with a high press who can challenge.

See you at the parade later? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I welled up.

I can still remember to this day, going to my Nan's on a Saturday morning with my cousin. She lived in a top floor flat on Remington Road. We'd go there and have breakfast with her, then wait until we could see the early fans making their way to WHL before giving her a kiss and joining them.

I actually thought the lanky streak of piss in front of her was my Old Man, but he told me he never owned a Black suit back then so couldn't be him.

I don't have too many photos of my Nan, so thank you for putting that up, it was a fantastic surprise. She lived in Tottenham her entire life, until the day she passed, and was a wonderful Nan to all of her grandkids.

My Pop now also has another photo of the Mum he adored ( she raised 3 kids by herself after her husband walked out on her before my Dad was born), so he's a bit emotional now as well.

Once again, thank you tart, that has made both of our day's.

I guessed that it was Fore st., and not the High Rd - what do you reckon?

The wooden rattle, just above your Nan's head, is similar to my old one, but mine was MUCH bigger. Also, as I was only 8 years old, I could hardly lift it!!!!

Actually, the details in that photo are wonderful. The boy at the front - shoes falling apart, home-made flag, gorgeous rosettes and a party blower sticking out of his trousers pocket. Different times!

And the bloke with his rattle, Spurs paraphernalia, Spursy Hat, Sunday Suit and Wife!

I honestly can't tell. You can just about see visions photographs in the background, so I've tried to Google that but haven't had any luck.

I don't think it's the High Road though as, looking at the photos of crowds in 1961, the High Road was absolutely rammed with bodies, same as it was yesterday.
