Match We can be heroes part two Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester united UEFA Cup final. Bilbao 21st May

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m still on a massive high. Now rewatching the parade in full. Sky News coverage full stream is on YouTube. And then I’ll rewatch the final. In full. It’s just so fucking beautiful. The stress, the pain, the frustration, the flack, years and decades of ridicule and abuse. It’s all flowing away. There’s a torrent and negativity and bad vibes flowing out of my system. The whole world can see how massive we are now. Just absolutely incredible scenes.

Yeah I think you’re right about that. Amazing what a football club and 11 blokes kicking a ball around can do to a persons brain. Looking forward to going today, it’s going to be great to be back. Any time we are pissed off with life or the team then we just need to look back on all this and hope it helps. These moments of glory are what we’ve waited for.

Don't know if I'm ready for tomorrow, as still recovering from the last couple of days. Please forgive me If I repeat myself in this post, as I really don't know what day it is at the moment.
Every spare minute is spent looking at footage from Wednesday and Friday. When I watch the game, I only watch our goal, Micky's clearance and the last five minutes. And I still expect us to concede from that last corner.
From what I've seen and heard, I think the most common emotion all round was sheer and utter relief. Grown men (and women) were crying openly at the final whistle. We were sitting behind our bench so saw the trophy ceremony clearly, but the best view of the celebrations was definitely behind the goal.
Disgraceful that Bentancur, Romero and Sonny didn't get medals on the pitch - why someone couldn't have run off the pitch and grabbed them, I'll never know. However, won't dwell on that as it was a magical day and night otherwise.
The fanzone had a brilliant atmosphere and it worried me that we would be worn out by the time we got to the stadium. Paul Coyte and the Legends were great at keeping the atmosphere going. James Black was the musical entertainment and those of you who frequent the Shelf Bar will be familiar with his work - he does some great adaptions to popular tunes (love the waka waka one, couldn't get it out of my head on Thursday) and loved his duet with Sandro playing guitar to Glory Glory Hallelujah. AJ Tracey and Michael MacIntyre also took to the stage.
Highlight for me was when I managed to get to the front at the side of the stage and got Mabbsey to sign my 1991 Cup Final shirt. I said to him that the shirt was a lot baggier in '91, and he said so was his!
Also saw Expressions, Richard Curtis, Luca from 'Love Island' and Paul from 'My Mum, Your Dad'.
Met some people who I haven't seen for simply ages, so good to catch up with them.
My favourite bit of footage was seeing Sonny telling everybody how he banged his head on the trophy.
I'm knackered now. If I think of anything else that may be of interest, I'll post again tomorrow.
Exactly the same here Mrs P can’t stop trawling through footage and media -,best image I’ve seen is aJonson instagram post as he runs to the crowd after scoring / right at the front of the crowd are my 2,sons in a state of delirium - priceless - after today gonna need the 3,months off to recover Coys

Loved seeing Vic’s folks outside the Guggenheim. And the spurs boat was immense! Wasn’t in it but enjoyed the singing, joining in from the bank and them wankering random Man U fans!

One of many, many great things about our win on Wednesday is the sense of reconnection with our history.

Someone mentioned a few pages back that it’s highlighted our status as first British winners of a European trophy.

I’ve noticed something else too - it’s our 18th major trophy and people outside of Spurs fandom have started to take notice. This time last week the ‘hilarious’ banter from opposing fans was “hur, hur, trophies” - and no amount of saying we were actually one of England’s most decorated clubs cut through.

Now, that history is *current*, it’s alive, it doesn’t feel a bit tragic to point to our long-dormant trophy list - we have a whole pile of major trophies and we’re still going.

That's exactly what I was thinking!

The joy of others that we finished 17th in the Premier League and the hatred and envy that their hopes that we would leave the pitch in Bilbao as absolute losers can be further incentive to change course!

Yes, yes - we only won the game because United were so bad! Or maybe it was the weather!

The game showed me that Ange and his team tactically took the opponent out of the game.
No constant high attacks, a bombastic defense, the fans as the 12th man behind them!

They can do it! They work as a team! The 1-0 lead wasn't held on to. United gambled away! Lads, it's Tottenham - exactly! THAT'S TOTTENHAM - you idiots from United!

The team can trust itself; new players will join next season, others will leave. The "Bacillus - Lads, it's Tottenham" can become a trademark in a positive sense.

I hope the plague of injuries is over!

The team has reason to be confident going into the next round!

I didn't do a pre-match or post match report . I think it was the celebrations and not getting home until 2am , I watched it at the stadium , I still have a sore throat . So It completely slipped my mind . A single goal clinched it and we're champions of Europe Once again after a 41yr wait . The open top bus parade was busy at 10;30am . We got there early to get a good vantage point and it paid off , I was right opposite the stage . Sonny did a speech and Johnson kept coming back again and again raising the trophy and getting cheers . We've written our name in the history books once again . Never forget that we are The Mighty Tottenham Hotspur from the Lane ............Yid Army

COYS...&...TTID...................CSWY

I've always felt connected with the club's history and one of the things I've noticed is that a lot of patterns repeat themselves. If you read about the period of our longest trophy drought between 1921 and 1951, you'll find a lot of similarities between how the club operated then and how it operates now.

It looks like Ange is on course to be the Arthur Rowe to Pochettino's Peter McWilliam.

Thanks for the welcome!! I won’t even quibble w Kansas/Oklahoma references! 😂

My wife and I are heading there around 12:30, arrival around 1:30!

Both incredibly excited!

Was excited just to see a game and our stadium in person. But to do it while celebrating our beautiful EL trophy?! Unbelievable!!

See you there! I’m the guy w a graying beard, glasses, a Kulu jersey, and the Louisville Spurs scarf!
Enjoy mate, how did you become a spurs fan?
