Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's nothing special, I'm glad we won, but Europa League is a shite league, we never won before probably because we never took it serious and most of the years, recently, we were playing UCL. Europa League is the second division of Europe.

Ahhh another one -

Disgraceful

You realise you are in the VAST VAST minority of Spurs fans here, right?

WHy don't you go visit our rival fans forums and join in with their salty tears about why we don't deserve kudos for winning.

Knock over some Europa pins like Qarabag, Elfsborg, Bodo...
You shouldn't be allowed to have that avatar.

Yes is the simple answer. But VDV did bust a gut and risk injury for the team and some of that expression comes from the managers ability to make the team. So don’t throw away that winning mentality if we can help it no?
We've had plenty of Brennan Johnson Own Goal Truthers, but has anyone pointed out that VDV absolutely could have and should have headed that ball?

When was the last time we won a cup?
How many times have you been pissed off with us losing to shit teams in europe/

Just stop downplaying this man, you sound like a rival fan. It really is a loser mentality - you call Ange a loser yet you are the onefinding any way you can to diminish our achievement.
We are a premier league club. We have been in relegation form for the majority of his tenure. He loses in our league more than he wins. If you lose more than you win, you are a loser. Maybe in Scotland he was a winner, playing men against boys at Celtic, but in the PL a winner he ain't.

Spurs as a football club were losers before this season for the last 17 years - we won nothing. Zero - we lost every time a huge pivotal game came along that could define us as winners and go down in history.

Last week that changed - we are now winners for the first time in 17 years - 41 in Europe - our name in the history books. Poch's isn't, Ange's is. Next to the very best of managers we ever had like it or not.

You want to diminish it, that is fine, you do you - but it's weird behaviour

You are free to include 15th place United, or whomever turned up in their shirts and still held us without a shot on target while scoring an own goal. Acknowledging that we had a morning stroll through Europa doesn't shrink the trophy, it's an acceptance of reality that Ange did not work any sort of a miracle there that changes who he is. And of course on Sunday it was right back to who he is.
If it was so easy , why have we not done it since 1984?
It was beginning to feel like the club was allergic to winning and no matter how much you don’t rate Ange , he was the one who changed that and history will always show it.
Why not just try and enjoy the win instead of trying to diminish it ?

I have and am enjoying it. Seeing a modicum of success finally is great. We shouldn't waste that by returning the worst manager we've had in decades.

If you don’t want to return him , doesn’t that mean you want to keep him? :ange-arms:

Any way I’m done with this thread for a bit , it’s not a hill I want to die on , I just wish people could be critical of the manager and his league form whilst also recognising that him winning us the EL is a massive achievement!
As I have said numerous times , whatever levy decides to do is fine by me , I agree our league form has been horrendous and that should be a sackable offence on its own , but that should have happened months ago, but then if it did do we still win the EL?
Leaving it till now is just typical Levy, still at least it’s better than sacking him right before a final I guess!

I wish the conversation were more about what our future and our needs going forward look like rather than endless focus on the league vs cup form of this past season.

Ange *deserves* and *has earned* the right to continue as manager with the EL triumph, arguments to the contrary are ridiculous, IMO. It would be heartless and cruel to sack him.

But deserve's got nothing to do with it. If other options give us better prospects for success going forward then we'd would be stupid not to take them. You HAVE to be heartless and cruel in this game.

This site attracts some proper cretins.
Pal, you'll give Ange a warm embrace whenever he comes back. One of the worst managers we've ever had...if not the worst. A 'man' who's disrespected the fans on too many occasions to count. All that cause he says mate a lot, and got friggin lucky his cunty statement came true to save his ass, winning the CL's dead ugly sister by playing the worst football known to man, proper scaredy-cat stuff of the weakest order.

But yeah, we're cretins.

Happy to do it. I would also give a hug to any former manager (maybe not George Graham) even if they weren't one of the only 10 in our history that have delivered a trophy.
I would happily have a glass of red with Jacques Santini, grill some sardines with Nuno, eat some tapas with Juande Ramos or have a fondue with Christian Gross. They are all part of the history of the club.

We can give him as long as he wants. He’s a fucking shit manager, it’s blindingly obvious from 2 PL seasons. He’s been fucking abysmal after that first 10 games.

But he won a trophy so some people want to suck him off because they’re stupid and think that makes him a good manager. No, it just makes him in the latest in a long line of shit managers who have won a trophy.

The right move is to say thanks very much and fuck off. The alternative is to keep him until he proves again how fucking shit he is. Then sack him. I hope we make the right move…
Pal, it's the Spurs equivalent of the Stockholm Syndrome. Or the lad that was bullied, used to get beat up and spat on, thought he'd never get laid and now he's pulled a total uggo but she says she loves him and gives him some every night...so he thinks she's Margot friggin Robbie and acts like he's peak Schwarzenegger, giving it the big un. Perennial losers feeling like winners for once...and losing their sanity as a result.

So pathetic, yet so predictable.
