Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s not about 16 years olds, it’s about players 27/28 and under who are talented but rough edged.
Eh?

You said: "All the players we buy like Udogie, Tel, Odobert, Bergvall, Gray are youngish talents but rough edged, some more than others"

They're not rough edged 27/28 year olds.

Whether it be Luke Shaw or Lallana at Saints, Dembele, Rose, Walker with us, Cucurella, Caicedo at Chelsea the results are clear as daylight. I would be shocked if he couldn’t do a lot with the likes of Udogie, Gray, Bergvall etc.

Furthering the natural curve of players entering their peak years (Lloris, Eriksen, Dembele, Vert, Toby, Walker etc. *) is just good (yet somewhat expected at this level) management; not some magical, semi-excusive MoPo trait.

- Rose made his biggest leap whilst out on loan; only to get ruined by injury 18 months later.
- Dele was just a raw talent; that lost his edge the more he got coached. (Personal problems also noted)
- Kane was a dedication story for the most part.
- Dier leveled out quite quickly.

That's Poch's peak XI.

We aren't going to sign anyone until we have a new manager to announce his play-style, surely?

Which makes me wonder if Levy is keeping Ange at least until he feels like he's got a genuine upgrade, otherwise he'd be sacking him with no plan of a replacement. I think he's on borrowed time but that doesn't help with transfer plans. If he's staying, Levy should announce it.

They are not in deep financial crisis at all.

They have some overpaid players to get rid of, that is true. Deep financial crisis is a bit OTT.
Well there's two flavors. An actual cashflow financial crisis wherein the team can't pay its bills, which is not the case and Ratcliffe's claims to the contrary are bullshit, that ownership group is titanically well capitalized.

But there's also PSR to worry about, and they are definitely in some bother in that respect. That club has spent an outrageous amount of money on their dogshit squad, and you're not allowed to just do that forever anymore.

Still think we should go for Vlahovic. Not sure we will be able to convince him though, maybe if we get a serious manager.
His contract ends in 1 Yr June 2026, not been offered new contract yet, one of their highest payed players too (circa £16Mp.a.)... We wont pay them wages ... but with FP,talks will be smooth & price will be very reasonable as only a yr left.

BUT a caveat regarding any striker we buy, they need service & more than just one player able to deliver a cross. Solanke has been starved of any real service plus the role he has been asked to play doesnt help, constantly required to pull back provide hold up play n support wingers / most transitions etc ....

Unless you’re Chelsea
