Yeah - and exactly why we should be after KWP ... he is club trained.
If KWP will sign a conservatively priced deal and happily become a squad player, I feel like that one is a no-brainer, he'd essentially replace Ben Davies as fullback depth.

He'll have other offers, but not ones to play in the Champions League with his boyhood club.
Bergvall, Gray and Vuskovic will all become club trained when they are 21.
Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine would age into that status in the 26/27 season if they're in the squad (and if we're in Europe) as well.

Note that these players (and Moore, Donley, Lankshear, Ajayi etc.) can all be on the B list now anyway, so can play in the CL without impacting our senior squad numbers.
Correct, though players must have been registered with the club for two full years to go on the U21 List B, so even though the likes of Gray, Bergvall and Vuskovic will EVENTUALLY become club-trained, they do not get to count among the U21 list for next season's CL despite being so young. Odobert and Tel too.

We're pretty jammed up on the UEFA side of the squad rules, with any light at the end of the tunnel still being pretty distant.

Having watched PSG win the CL with Vitinha pulling the strings, a player who was not rated at Wolves, I am amazed people cannot appreciate the type of player Angel Gomes is. He can be our deep lying playmaker. Neat and tidy, always available moves the ball incredibly well and is press resistant. I really noticed him when England won the U21 Euros in 2023 - Gomes made England tick. He was fantastic on his full England debut, and would benefit from a move to the PL.

Can Gomes play the 10? I think what made Vitinha especially brilliant yesterday was dropping deep in front of the CBs when the offense setup in the inter half- he was absolutely masterful from deep, controlled everything, yet still was available to run the break and arrive mid/late. Absolutely demoralized the Inter press! Vitinha was a 10 when defending, and then a flex 10/6 when attacking. Amazing stuff to watch.

Just re-watch the game he played for England last year. Played exactly that way in front of the back 4. Also how he played for England when they won Euro 2023 U21.
