That’s exactly the reason why. He’s a good player and better than Biss so if he does come then that’s progress. I just think this will be a shit show of a window for us. We won’t upgrade our wide areas and striker positions and that’s a must. Sane won’t sign for us. We are in the market for players on Solanke’s level when we need better. I like Solanke and he’s a warrior but we need much better quality. We need a left back and depending what Romero does decides if we need another centre back. We also need Eze. He’s the one I want more than any to be honest. When madders isn’t playing we have zero creativity. Not one player in our team apart from Madders has any guile or class.
Gomes by himself won't improve us but in the PL you need a good squad and he fits the criteria. What's not to like about a 20-30 million pound player joining for nothing that also won't be on utterly daft wages? I think once he's back playing in England you'll see him suddenly picked in a lot more England squads too.
